Therefore you are without excuse, O man, whoever you are who judges, for in whatever you judge another you condemn yourself; for you who judge practice the same things.

O man, He has declared to you what is good. And what does Jehovah require of you, but to do justice, and to love mercy, and to walk humbly with your God.

For how do you know, O wife, whether you will save your husband? Or how do you know, O husband, whether you will save your wife?

But are you willing to understand, O vain man, that faith apart from works is dead?

Why do you contend with Him? For He does not give account to you of His business.

Who has assigned Him His way, or who has said, You have done wrong?

Who is this who darkens counsel by words without knowledge?

Now gird up your loins like a man; I will consult with you, and you declare unto Me.

Shall the one who contends with the Almighty find fault? He who reproves God, let him testify.

Once I have spoken, but I will not answer; yea, twice, but I will proceed no further.

Would you indeed annul My judgment? Would you condemn Me so that you may be justified?

I know that You can do everything, and that no purpose is withheld from You.

Grant me this request, and I will speak: I will inquire of You, and You declare to me.

Therefore I despise myself, and have repented in dust and ashes.

Is it not lawful for me to do what I wish with my own things? Or is your eye evil because I am good?

Is there no end to windy words? What ails you that you answer thus?

Let bondservants be obedient to their own masters, well pleasing in all things, not answering back,

Where is the wise? Where is the scribe? Where is the disputer of this age? Has not God made foolish the wisdom of this world?

useless wranglings of men of corrupt minds and destitute of the truth, who suppose that godliness is a means of gain. From such withdraw yourself.

O your perversity! Shall the former be esteemed as the potter's clay; for shall the product say of him who made it, He did not make me? Or shall the thing formed say to him who formed it, He has had no understanding?

Woe to him who strives with the One who formed him, a potsherd among the potsherds of the earth! Shall the clay say to the one who forms it, What are you making? Or your work, He has no hands?

Thus says Jehovah, the Holy One of Israel, and the One who formed him, Do you ask Me of things to come? Do you give command to Me about My sons, and about the work of My hands?
