Likewise the Spirit also helps in our weaknesses. For we do not know what we should pray as we ought, but the Spirit Himself makes intercession for us with groanings which cannot be uttered.

whatever prayer, whatever supplication is made by anyone, or by all Your people Israel, when each one knows the plague of his own heart, and spreads out his hands toward this house:

I am weary from my groaning; all night I make my bed swim; I dissolve my couch with my tears.

When I kept silent, my bones wore out through my roaring all day long.

For by day and night Your hand was heavy upon me; my sap was turned into the drought of summer. Selah.

For Your arrows pierce me, and Your hand presses down upon me.

I am feeble and severely broken; I have roared because of the groanings of my heart.

My heart pants; my strength fails me; as for the light of my eyes, it also is gone from me.

Will the Lord cast off forever? And will He be pleased no more?

Has the Mighty God forgotten to be gracious? Has He in anger shut up His tender mercies? Selah

My soul breaks with longing for Your Justice at all times.

For I have become like a wineskin in smoke, yet I do not forget Your Statutes.

Distress and anguish have come upon me, yet Your Commandments are my delight.

He shall call upon Me, and I will answer him; I will be with him in trouble; I will deliver him and honor him.

to hear the groaning of the prisoner, to set free the children of death,

He will return and have compassion on us; He will subdue our iniquities. And You will cast all their sins into the depths of the sea.

As for you, by the blood of your covenant I have set free your prisoners from the pit, where there is no water.

Turn to the stronghold, you prisoners of hope. Even today I declare that I will restore double to you.

The Spirit of the Lord is upon Me, because He has anointed Me to preach the gospel to the poor; He has sent Me to heal the brokenhearted, to proclaim deliverance to the captives and recovery of sight to the blind, to set free with deliverance those who are oppressed;

For we do not want you to be ignorant, brethren, of our affliction which came to us in Asia: that we were burdened exceedingly, beyond strength, so that we despaired even of life.

who delivered us from so great a death, and does deliver us, in whom we hope that He will still deliver us,

And the Lord will deliver me from every evil work and keep me safe for His Heavenly kingdom. To Him be glory forever and ever. Amen.

who gave Himself for us, that He might redeem us from all lawlessness and purify a people for His own possession, zealous unto good works.

and set free those who through fear of death were all their lifetime subject to bondage.

knowing this, that our old man was crucified with Him, that the body of sin might be nullified, that we should no longer serve sin.

For if you live according to the flesh you will die; but if by the Spirit you put to death the deeds of the body, you will live.

free among the dead, like the slain who lie in the grave, whom You remember no more, and who have been cut off from Your hand.
