He who kills an ox is as if he killed a man; he who sacrifices a lamb is as if he broke a dog's neck; he who offers an offering is as if he offered swine's blood; he who burns incense is as if he blessed an idol. Yea, they have chosen their own ways, and their soul delights in their abominations.

I also will choose the things that delude them, and I will bring their fears upon them, because when I called, no one answered; when I spoke, they have not obeyed. But they did evil before My eyes and have chosen that in which I have not delighted.

Hear the Word of Jehovah, you who tremble at His Word: Your brothers who hated you, who cast you out because of My name, said, Let Jehovah be glorified. But He will appear for your joy, and they shall be ashamed.

A roaring sound from the city, a sound from the temple, the sound of Jehovah repaying His enemies.
Jeremiah 7:4-14

Do not trust in lying words, saying, The temple of Jehovah, The temple of Jehovah, This is the temple of Jehovah.

For if you thoroughly make your ways and your doings good; if you work to execute justice between a man and his neighbor;

if you do not oppress the sojourner, the fatherless, and the widow, and do not shed innocent blood in this place, nor walk after other gods to your hurt;

then I will cause you to dwell in this place, in the land that I gave to your fathers, forever and ever.

Behold, you trust in lying words that are of no benefit.

Will you steal, murder, and commit adultery, and swear falsely, and burn incense to Baal, and walk after other gods whom you do not know;

and then come and stand before Me in this house which is called by My name, and say, We are delivered to do all those abominations?

Has this house, which is called by My name, become a den of robbers in your eyes? Behold, I, even I, have seen it, says Jehovah.
12
But go now to My place which was in Shiloh, where I set My name at the first, and see what I did to it because of the evil of My people Israel.
13
And now, because you have done all these works, says Jehovah, and I spoke to you, rising up early and speaking, but you did not hear; and I called you, but you did not answer;
14
therefore I will do to this house, which is called by My name, in which you trust, and to the place which I gave to you and to your fathers, as I have done to Shiloh.
Jeremiah 26:6-9

then I will make this house like Shiloh, and will make this city a curse to all the nations of the earth.

So the priests and the prophets and all the people heard Jeremiah speaking these words in the house of Jehovah.

And it happened when Jeremiah had made an end of speaking all that Jehovah had commanded him to speak to all the people, that the priests and the prophets and all the people took him, saying, You shall die the death!

Hebrews 9:9-11

It was a comparison for the present time in which both gifts and sacrifices are offered which cannot make him who performed the service perfect in regard to the conscience;

concerned only with foods and drinks, various washings, and fleshly ordinances imposed until the time when things were set right.

But Christ came as High Priest of the good things to come, with the greater and more perfect tabernacle not made with hands, that is, not of this creation.
Hebrews 10:1-18

For the Law, having a shadow of the good things to come, and not the very image of those things, can never with these same sacrifices, which they offer continually year by year, make those who approach perfect.

For then, would they not have ceased to be offered? For those serving, once purified, would have had no more consciousness of sins.

But in those sacrifices there is a reminder of sins every year.

For it is not possible for the blood of bulls and goats to take away sins.

Therefore, when He came into the world, He said: Sacrifice and offering You did not desire, but a body You have prepared for Me.

You did not take pleasure in burnt offerings and sacrifices for sin.

Then I said, Behold, I have come (In the volume of the book it is written of Me) to do Your will, O God.

Previously saying, Sacrifice and offering, burnt offerings, and offerings for sin You did not desire, nor were pleased with them (which are offered according to the Law),

then He said, Behold, I have come to do Your will, O God. He takes away the first in order that He may establish the second.

By which will we have been sanctified through the offering of the body of Jesus Christ once for all.
11
And every priest stands ministering daily and offering repeatedly the same sacrifices, which can never take away sins.
12
But this Man, after He had offered one sacrifice for sins for all time, sat down at the right hand of God,
13
from that time onward waiting till His enemies are made His footstool.
14
For by one offering He has perfected for all time those who are being sanctified.
15
But the Holy Spirit also witnesses to us; for after He had said before,
16
This is the covenant that I will make with them after those days, says the Lord: I will put My Laws into their hearts, and in their minds I will write them,
17
then He adds, Their sins and their lawless deeds I will remember no more.
18
Now where there is remission of these, there is no longer an offering for sin.
Hebrews 12:26-28

whose voice then shook the earth; but now He has promised, saying, Yet once more I shake not only the earth, but also the heavens.
27
Now this, Yet once more, indicates the removal of those things that are being overthrown, as of things that are made, that the things which cannot be overthrown may remain.
28
Therefore, since we are receiving a kingdom which cannot be moved, let us have grace, by which we may serve God acceptably with reverence and godly fear.
