When these things were completed, Paul purposed in the Spirit, when he had passed through Macedonia and Achaia, to go to Jerusalem, saying, After I have been there, I must also see Rome.

But the following night the Lord stood by him and said, Be of good courage, Paul; for as you have testified of Me in Jerusalem, so you must also bear witness at Rome.

Then Festus, when he had conferred with the council, answered, You have appealed to Caesar? To Caesar you shall go.

But when I found that he had committed nothing deserving of death, and that he himself had appealed to Augustus, I decided to send him.

As for you, you had devised evil against me; but God had planned it for good, in order to bring it about as it is this day, to save many people alive.

The counsel of Jehovah stands forever, the thoughts of His heart from generation to generation.

Surely the wrath of man shall praise You; with the remainder of wrath You shall gird Yourself.

There are many plans in a man's heart; nevertheless the counsel of Jehovah shall stand.

It is good for a man that he bear the yoke in his youth.

And all those living in the earth are counted as nothing. And He does according to His will in the army of Heaven, and among those living in the earth. And no one is able to restrain His hand or say to Him, What are You doing?

For this reason I also have been much hindered from coming to you.

whenever I may journey to Spain, I shall come to you; for I hope to see you on my journey, and to be helped on my way there by you, if first I may be filled with your company briefly.

For it pleased those from Macedonia and Achaia to make certain gifts for the poor among the saints who are in Jerusalem.

Therefore, when I have performed this and have sealed to them this fruit, I shall go through you to Spain.

There was a certain man in Caesarea called Cornelius, a centurion of what was called the Italian Regiment,

And he found a certain Jew named Aquila, born in Pontus, who had recently come from Italy with his wife Priscilla (because Claudius had commanded all the Jews to depart from Rome); and he came to them.

Greet all those in authority over you, and all the saints. Those from Italy greet you.

Nevertheless the centurion was more persuaded by the helmsman and the owner of the ship than by the things spoken by Paul.

But the centurion, desiring to save Paul, kept them from their purpose, and commanded that those who could swim should jump overboard first and get to land;

And they said, Cornelius the centurion, a just man, one who fears God and has a good reputation among all the nation of the Jews, was divinely instructed by a holy angel to summon you to his house, and to hear words from you.

He immediately took soldiers and centurions, and ran down to them. And when they saw the commander and the soldiers, they stopped beating Paul.

When the centurion heard that, he went and told the commander, saying, Take heed what you are about to do, for this man is a Roman.

Then Paul called one of the centurions to him and said, Lead this young man to the commander, for he has something to tell him.

So he commanded the centurion to keep Paul and to let him have liberty, and told him not to forbid any of his friends to provide for or visit him.

And when we came to Rome, the centurion delivered the prisoners to the captain of the guard; but Paul was permitted to dwell by himself with the soldier who guarded him.

And when Jesus had entered Capernaum, a centurion came to Him, begging Him,

And Jesus said to him, I will come and heal him.

For I also am a man under authority, having soldiers under me. And I say to this one, Go, and he goes; and to another, Come, and he comes; and to my servant, Do this, and he does it.

Now when the centurion and those with him, who were guarding Jesus, saw the earthquake and the things that had happened, they feared greatly, saying, Truly this was the Son of God!

And a certain centurion's servant, who was dear to him, having an illness, was about to die.

So when the centurion saw what had happened, he glorified God, saying, Truly this was a righteous Man!

But when I found that he had committed nothing deserving of death, and that he himself had appealed to Augustus, I decided to send him.
