But Festus answered that Paul should be kept at Caesarea, and that he himself was going there shortly.

Therefore, he said, let those who have authority among you go down with me and accuse this man, whatever there might be in him.

Then Agrippa said to Paul, You are permitted to speak for yourself. So Paul stretched out his hand and answered for himself:

and it has been reported to you, and you have heard of it, and you have inquired thoroughly, and behold, it is true and the matter is certain, that such an abomination has been done in Israel;

then both men in the controversy shall stand before Jehovah, before the priests and the judges who hold office in those days.

And the judges shall investigate thoroughly, and indeed, if the witness is a false witness, who has testified falsely against his brother,

He who answers a matter before he hears it, it is folly and shame to him.

The first to plead his case seems just, until his neighbor comes and cross-examines him.
