But motioning to them with his hand to keep silent, he told them how the Lord had brought him out of the prison. And he said, Go, tell these things to Jacob and to the brethren. And he departed and went to another place.

Then Paul stood up, and motioning with his hand said, Men of Israel, and you who fear God, listen:

And they drew Alexander out of the multitude, the Jews putting him forward. And Alexander motioned with his hand, and wanted to make his defense to the people.

So when he had given him permission, Paul stood on the stairs and motioned with his hand to the people. And when there was a great silence, he spoke to them in the Hebrew dialect, saying,

Then Agrippa said to Paul, You are permitted to speak for yourself. So Paul stretched out his hand and answered for himself:

But if it is a question of words and names and your own law, see to it yourselves; for I do not want to be a judge of such matters.

If a man sins against man, God will judge him. But if a man sins against Jehovah, who shall intercede for him? Nevertheless they did not heed the voice of their father, because Jehovah desired to kill them.

But He said to him, Man, who made Me a judge or a divider over you?

saying: There was in a certain city a judge who did not fear God nor regard man.

But sanctify the Lord God in your hearts, and always be ready to give a defense to everyone who asks you a reason for the hope that is in you, with meekness and fear;
