And Jehovah God called to the man and said to him, Where are you?

And He said, Hagar, Sarai's maidservant, where have you come from, and where are you going? She said, I am fleeing from the presence of my mistress Sarai.

And it came to pass after these things that God tested Abraham, and said to him, Abraham! And he said, Here am I.

And the Angel of Jehovah called to him from the heavens and said, Abraham! Abraham! And he said, Here am I.

And when Jehovah saw that he turned aside to look, God called to him from the midst of the bush and said, Moses! Moses! And he said, Here am I.

And Jehovah came and stood and called as at other times, Samuel! Samuel! And Samuel answered, Speak, for Your servant is listening.

But you have not called upon Me, O Jacob; but you have been weary of Me, O Israel.

You have bought Me no sweet cane with money, nor have you filled Me with the fat of your sacrifices; but you have burdened Me with your sins; you have wearied Me with your iniquities.

Bring to My remembrance; let us enter into judgment together; declare yourself, that you may be justified.

Thus says Jehovah, What injustice have your fathers found in Me, that they have gone far from Me and have walked after vanity, and have become vain?

Therefore I will contend with you, says Jehovah, and with your children's children I will make a complaint.

Then He will answer them, saying, Truly, I say to you, inasmuch as you did not do it to one of the least of these, you did not do it to Me.

And the governor said, Why, what evil has He done? But they cried out all the more, saying, Let Him be crucified!

although I was formerly a blasphemer, a persecutor, and an insolent man; but I received mercy because I did it ignorantly in unbelief.
