Then Paul answered, What do you mean by weeping and breaking my heart? For I am ready not only to be bound, but also to die at Jerusalem for the name of the Lord Jesus.

Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? Shall affliction, or distress, or persecution, or famine, or nakedness, or peril, or sword?

Yet in all these things we more than conquer through Him who loves us.

nor height nor depth, nor any other created thing, shall be able to separate us from the love of God in Christ Jesus our Lord.

Therefore, my beloved brethren, be steadfast, immovable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, knowing that your labor is not in vain in the Lord.

Therefore, since we have this ministry, as we have received mercy, we do not faint.

We are hard pressed on every side, yet not crushed; we are perplexed, but not in despair;

persecuted, but not forsaken; cast down, but not destroyed;

Therefore we do not faint. Even though our outward man is perishing, yet the inward man is being renewed day by day.

while we do not contemplate the things which are seen, but the things which are not seen. For the things which are seen are temporary, but the things which are not seen are eternal.

But in all things commending ourselves as ministers of God; in much endurance, in afflictions, in needs, in distresses,

in purity, in knowledge, in longsuffering, in kindness, in the Holy Spirit, in sincere love,

through honor and dishonor, through evil report and good report; as deceivers, and yet true;

as sorrowful, yet always rejoicing; as poor, yet making many rich; as having nothing, and yet possessing all things.

Great is my boldness of speech toward you, great is my rejoicing on your behalf. I am filled with comfort. I overflow with joy in all our affliction.

Therefore I take pleasure in infirmities, in reproaches, in needs, in persecutions, in distresses, for Christ's sake. For when I am weak, then I am strong.

Therefore I ask that you do not lose heart at my afflictions on your behalf, which is your glory.

But even after we had suffered before and were spitefully treated at Philippi, as you know, we were bold in our God to speak the gospel of God to you in much conflict.

that no one should be disturbed by these afflictions; for you yourselves know that we are appointed to this.

For this reason I also suffer these things; nevertheless I am not ashamed, for I know whom I have believed and am persuaded that He is able to keep safe what I have committed to Him until that Day.

persecutions, afflictions, which happened to me at Antioch, at Iconium, at Lystra; what persecutions I endured. And out of them all the Lord delivered me.

But the Lord stood with me and strengthened me, so that the preaching of the message might be fulfilled through me, and that all the Gentiles might hear. And I was delivered out of the mouth of the lion.

for you had compassion on me in my bonds, and joyfully accepted the plundering of your goods, knowing, yourselves, that you have a better and an enduring possession in Heaven.

Therefore we also, since we are surrounded by so great a cloud of witnesses, let us lay aside every weight, and the sin which so persistently harasses us, and let us run with perseverance the race that is set before us,

For consider Him who endured such opposition from sinners against Himself, that you not become weary and faint in your souls.

We are confident, yes, preferring rather to be absent from the body and to be at home with the Lord.

according to my earnest expectation and hope that in nothing I shall be ashamed, but with all boldness, as always, so now also Christ will be magnified in my body, whether by life or by death.

But if I live on in the flesh, this will mean fruit from my labor; yet what I shall choose I do not know.

Yes, and if I am being poured out on the sacrifice and service of your faith, I am glad and rejoice with you all.

I now rejoice in my sufferings on your behalf, and fill up in my flesh what is lacking in the afflictions of Christ, on behalf of His body, which is the church,

By this we know the love of God, because He laid down His life for us. And we also ought to lay down our lives for the brethren.

And they overcame him through the blood of the Lamb and through the word of their testimony, and they did not love their lives unto death.

I have glorified You on the earth. I have finished the work which You gave Me to do.

Do you not know that those who run in a race all run, but one receives the prize? Run in such a way that you may obtain it.

Therefore I run in this manner: not with uncertainty. Thus I fight: not as one who beats the air.

Brethren, I do not count myself to have laid hold; but one thing I do, forgetting those things which are behind and stretching forward to those things which are ahead,

Therefore let us, as many as are complete, be of this mind; and if in anything you think differently, God will reveal even this to you.

For I am already being poured out as a drink offering, and the time of my departure is at hand.

Hereafter, there is laid up for me the crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous Judge, will give to me on that Day, and not to me only but also to all the ones loving His appearing.

for he was numbered with us and obtained a part in this ministry.

But the Lord said to him, Go, for he is a chosen vessel unto Me to bear My name before Gentiles, kings, and the children of Israel.

Then He said to me, Depart, for I will send you far from here to the Gentiles.

I will deliver you from the Jewish people, as well as from the Gentiles, to whom I now send you,

to open their eyes, to turn them from darkness to light, and from the authority of Satan to God, that they may receive remission of sins and an inheritance among those who are sanctified by faith in Me.

For if I do this willingly, I have a reward; but if against my will, I have been entrusted with a stewardship.

What is my reward then? That when I preach the gospel, I may present the gospel of Christ without charge, that I may not abuse my authority in the gospel.

Therefore, since we have this ministry, as we have received mercy, we do not faint.

Paul, an apostle (not from men nor through man, but through Jesus Christ and God the Father who raised Him from the dead),

but has in due time proclaimed His Word through preaching, which was committed to me according to the commandment of God our Savior;

testifying both to Jews, and also to Greeks, repentance toward God and faith toward our Lord Jesus Christ.

And you also will bear witness, because you are with Me from the beginning.

how shall we escape if we neglect so great a salvation, which at the first began to be spoken by the Lord, and was confirmed to us by those who heard Him,

God also bearing witness both with signs and wonders, with various works of power, and gifts of the Holy Spirit, according to His own will?

Then, indeed, they stayed there a long time, speaking boldly in the Lord, Who was bearing witness to the Word of His grace, granting signs and wonders to be done through their hands.

And the angel said to them, Do not fear, for behold, I bring you good tidings of great joy which will be to all people.

For there is born to you this day in the city of David a Savior, who is Christ the Lord.

being justified freely by His grace through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus,

to prove at the present time His righteousness, that He might be just and the justifier of the one who is of the faith of Jesus.

Now to him who works, the wages are not counted according to grace but according to debt.

Moreover the Law entered that the offense might abound. But where sin abounded, grace abounded much more,

so that as sin reigned in death, even so grace might reign through righteousness unto eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.

And if by grace, then it is no longer of works; otherwise grace no longer becomes grace. But if it is of works, it is no longer grace; otherwise work is no longer work.

to the praise of the glory of His grace, by which He has made us accepted in the Beloved.

but God, who is rich in mercy, because of His great love with which He loved us,

and raised us up together, and made us sit together in the heavenlies in Christ Jesus,

For by grace you are saved through faith; and that not of yourselves, it is the gift of God;

For we are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus unto good works, which God prepared beforehand that we should walk in them.

For the grace of God that brings salvation has appeared to all men,

But when the kindness and the love of God our Savior toward man appeared,

whom He poured out on us abundantly through Jesus Christ our Savior,

By Silvanus, our faithful brother as I consider him, I have written to you briefly, exhorting and testifying that this is the true grace of God in which you stand.
