Nor was there anyone needy among them; for all who were possessors of lands or houses sold them, and brought the proceeds of the things that were sold,

And Joses, who was surnamed Barnabas by the apostles (which is translated Son of Encouragement), a Levite of the country of Cyprus,

But a certain man named Ananias, with Sapphira his wife, sold a possession.

And he kept back part of the proceeds, his wife also being aware of it, and brought a certain part and placed it at the apostles' feet.

Then the disciples, each according to his ability, determined to send relief to the brethren dwelling in Judea.

Sell what you have and give alms; provide yourselves money bags which do not grow old, a treasure in Heaven that does not fail, where a thief does not come near nor moth destroys.

For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also.

And I say to you, make friends for yourselves by unrighteous mammon, that when it fails, they may receive you into eternal dwellings.

So when Jesus heard these things, He said to him, You still lack one thing. Sell everything that you have and distribute to the poor, and you will have treasure in Heaven; and come, follow Me.

And Zacchaeus stood and said to the Lord, Behold, Lord, I give half of my possessions to the poor; and whatever I have taken from anyone by false accusation, I restore fourfold.

He has dispersed abroad, he has given to the poor; his righteousness stands forever; his horn shall be exalted with honor.

There is one who scatters, yet increases more; but the one who withholds more than is right, tends to poverty.

The blessed soul will be made fat; he who waters shall also be watered himself.

He who has pity upon the poor lends to Jehovah, and He will make compensation for what he has given.

Cast your bread upon the waters; for you shall find it after many days.

Give a share to seven, and also to eight; for you do not know what evil shall be on the earth.

Is it not to break your bread to the hungry, and that you should bring home the wandering poor? When you see the naked to cover him; and not hide yourself from your own flesh?

Then you shall call, and Jehovah will answer; you shall cry out, and He shall say, Here I am. If you take the yoke away from your midst, the pointing of the finger, and speaking wickedness;

And Jehovah shall guide you continually and satisfy your soul in dry places, and make your bones fat; and you shall be like a watered garden, and like a spring of water, whose waters do not fail.

Now concerning the ministering to the saints, it is superfluous for me to write to you;

As it is written: He has dispersed abroad, He has given to the poor; His righteousness endures forever.

Let them do good, that they be rich in good works, ready to give, willing to share,

storing up for themselves a good foundation for the time to come, that they may lay hold on eternal life.

What does it profit, my brethren, if someone says he has faith but does not have works? Is faith able to save him?

and one of you says to them, Depart in peace, be warmed and filled, but you do not give them the things which are needed for the body, what does it profit?

Come now, you rich, weep and howl for your calamities that are coming upon you.

Your gold and silver are corroded, and their corrosion will be a witness against you and will eat your flesh like fire. You have heaped up treasure in the last days.

You have lived on the earth in pleasure and luxury; you have fattened your hearts as in a day of slaughter.

But whoever has this world's goods, and sees his brother in need, and shuts up his heart from him, how does the love of God abide in him?
