of whom are Hymenaeus and Alexander, whom I delivered to Satan that they may be taught not to blaspheme.

Alexander the coppersmith did me much evil. The Lord render to him according to his works.

But motioning to them with his hand to keep silent, he told them how the Lord had brought him out of the prison. And he said, Go, tell these things to Jacob and to the brethren. And he departed and went to another place.

Then Paul stood up, and motioning with his hand said, Men of Israel, and you who fear God, listen:

So when he had given him permission, Paul stood on the stairs and motioned with his hand to the people. And when there was a great silence, he spoke to them in the Hebrew dialect, saying,

Then Paul, after the governor had nodded to him to speak, answered: Inasmuch as I know that you have been for many years a judge of this nation, I do the more cheerfully make my defense,

But when he came out, he could not speak to them; and they recognized that he had seen a vision in the temple, for he made signs to them and remained speechless.

Brethren and fathers, hear my defense before you now.

Then Agrippa said to Paul, You are permitted to speak for yourself. So Paul stretched out his hand and answered for himself:

I think myself happy, King Agrippa, because today I shall give a defense before you concerning all the things of which I am accused by the Jews,

just as it is right for me to think this of you all, because I have you in my heart, inasmuch as both in my bonds and in the defense and confirmation of the gospel, you all are partakers with me of the grace.
