that you abstain from things offered to idols, from blood, from things strangled, and from sexual perversion. If you keep yourselves from these, you will do well. Farewell.

And Jacob said to his household and to all who were with him, Put away the foreign gods that are among you, purify yourselves, and change your garments.

You shall have no other gods before Me.

you shall not bow down to them nor serve them; for I, Jehovah your God, am a jealous Mighty God, visiting the iniquity of the fathers upon the sons to the third and fourth generations of those who hate Me,

that you not make a covenant with the inhabitants of the land, and you go whoring after their gods and sacrifice to their gods, and they invite you and you eat of their sacrifices,

and you take of their daughters for your sons, and their daughters go whoring after their gods and make your sons go whoring after their gods.

And they invited the people to the sacrifices of their gods, and the people ate and bowed down to their gods.

Yea, they sacrificed their sons and their daughters to demons,

Thus they were defiled with their own works, and went whoring with their deeds.

Therefore say to the house of Israel, Thus says the Lord Jehovah: Are you defiling yourselves in the manner of your fathers, and committing adultery with their abominations?

For when you offer your gifts and make your sons pass through the fire, you defile yourselves with all your idols, even to this day. So shall I be inquired of by you, O house of Israel? As I live, declares the Lord Jehovah, I will not be inquired of by you.

Now concerning sacrifices to idols: We know that we all have knowledge. Knowledge puffs up, but love builds up.

Therefore concerning the eating of things sacrificed to idols, we know that an idol is nothing in the world, and that there is no other God except one.

yet for us there is one God, the Father, of whom are all things, and we for Him; and one Lord Jesus Christ, through whom are all things, and we through Him.

But food does not commend us to God; for neither if we eat do we excel, nor if we do not eat are we lacking.

For if anyone sees you who have knowledge eating in an idol's temple, will not the conscience of him who is weak be emboldened to eat things offered to idols?

But when you sin in this way against the brethren, and wound their weak conscience, you sin against Christ.

Rather, that the things which the Gentiles sacrifice they sacrifice to demons and not to God, and I do not want you to have fellowship with demons.

Or do we provoke the Lord to jealousy? Are we stronger than He?

But I have a few things against you, because you have there those who hold the doctrine of Balaam, who taught Balak to put a stumbling block before the children of Israel, to eat things sacrificed to idols, and to prostitute themselves to sexual immorality.

Nevertheless I have a few things against you, because you allow that woman Jezebel, who calls herself a prophetess, to teach and lead astray My servants to prostitute themselves to sexual immorality and eat things sacrificed to idols.

But the rest of mankind, who were not killed by these plagues, did not repent of the works of their hands, that they should not do homage to demons, and idols of gold, silver, brass, stone, and wood, which are not able to see nor hear nor walk.

And he had a little book open in his hand. And he set his right foot on the sea and his left foot on the land,

And the voice which I heard from Heaven spoke to me again and said, Go, take the little book which is open in the hand of the angel who stands on the sea and on the earth.

But now I have written to you not to keep company with anyone named a brother, who is sexually immoral, or covetous, or an idolater, or a reviler, or a drunkard, or an extortioner; not even to eat with such a person.

Do you not know that the unrighteous will not inherit the kingdom of God? Do not be led astray. Neither prostitutes, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor effeminate, nor sodomites,

Foods for the stomach and the stomach for foods, but God will destroy both it and them. Now the body is not for sexual perversion but for the Lord, and the Lord for the body.

Flee sexual perversion. Every sin that a man does is outside the body, but he who commits sexual immorality sins against his own body.

Nevertheless, because of sexual perversion, let each have his own wife, and let each have her own husband.

that it not be, when I come again, that my God will humble me among you, and I shall mourn for many who have sinned before and have not repented of the uncleanness, sexual perversities, and licentiousness which they have practiced.

Now the works of the flesh are evident, which are: adultery, sexual perversion, uncleanness, licentiousness,

But sexual perversion and all uncleanness or covetousness, let it not even be named among you, as is fitting for saints;

Therefore put to death your members which are on the earth: sexual perversion, uncleanness, passion, evil lusts, and covetousness, which is idolatry.

For this is the will of God, your sanctification: that you should abstain from sexual perversion;

that there be no prostitute or profane person like Esau, who for one morsel of food gave away his birthright.

Marriage is honorable in all, and the bed undefiled; but prostitutes and adulterers God will judge.

For we have spent enough of our past lifetime in doing the will of the Gentiles, when we walked in licentiousness, lusts, drunkenness, carousing, drinking parties, and abominable idolatries.

But concerning the Gentiles who believe, we have written and concluded that they should observe no such thing, except that they should keep themselves from things offered to idols, from blood, from things strangled, and from sexual perversion.

But you shall not eat flesh with its soul, that is, its blood.

This shall be a perpetual statute throughout your generations in all your dwellings: you shall eat neither fat nor blood.

Speak to the children of Israel, saying: You shall not eat any fat, of ox or sheep or goat.

For whoever eats the fat of the animal of which men offer an offering by fire unto Jehovah, the soul who eats it shall be cut off from his people.

Whoever eats any blood, that soul shall be cut off from his people.

And any man of the house of Israel, or of the strangers who sojourn among you, who eats any blood, I will set My face against that soul who eats blood, and will cut him off from among his people.

Therefore I have said to the children of Israel, No one among you shall eat blood, nor shall any stranger who sojourns among you eat blood.

for it is the soul of all flesh. Its blood is its soul. Therefore I said to the children of Israel, You shall not eat the blood of any flesh, for the soul of all flesh is its blood. Whoever eats it shall be cut off.

Only you shall not eat the blood; you shall pour it on the earth like water.

Only be sure not to eat the blood, for the blood is the soul; you shall not eat the soul with the flesh.

You shall not eat it, that it may go well with you and your children after you, when you do what is right in the eyes of Jehovah.

You shall not eat anything that dies of itself; you may give it to the sojourner who is within your gates, that he may eat it, or you may sell it to a foreigner; for you are a holy people unto Jehovah your God. You shall not boil a kid in its mother's milk.

Only you shall not eat its blood; you shall pour it on the ground like water.

And the people rushed upon the spoils, and took sheep, oxen, and calves, and slaughtered them on the ground; and the people ate with the blood.

So I said, Ah, Lord Jehovah! Behold, my soul has never been defiled from my youth till now; I have never eaten a carcass or a torn animal, nor has abominable flesh ever come into my mouth.

Therefore say to them, Thus says the Lord Jehovah: You eat meat with blood, you lift up your eyes toward your idols, and shed blood. Shall you then possess the land?

For every creature of God is good, and nothing is to be refused if it is received with thanksgiving;

for it is sanctified by the Word of God and prayer.
