If we this day are examined for a good deed done to an infirm man, by what means he has been made well,

In these lay a great multitude of sick people, blind, lame, paralyzed, waiting for the moving of the water.

The sick man answered Him, Sir, I have no man to throw me into the pool when the water is stirred up; but while I am coming, another goes down before me.
