So when he had explained all these things to them, he sent them to Joppa.

I was in the city of Joppa praying; and in a trance I saw a vision, an object descending like a great sheet, let down from heaven by four corners; and it came to me.

And I heard a voice saying to me, Arise, Peter; kill and eat.

But the voice answered me again from Heaven, What God has cleansed do not consider unclean.

And when they had come down from the high place into the city, he spoke with Saul on the top of the house.

and those who bow down to the host of the heavens on the housetops; and those who bow, swearing to Jehovah, but also swearing by Melech,

But you, when you pray, go into your room, and when you have shut your door, pray to your Father who is in secret; and your Father who sees in secret will reward you openly.

And in the morning, having risen a long while before daylight, He went out and departed to a solitary place; and there prayed.

And when He had sent them away, He departed into the mountain to pray.

I desire therefore that the men pray everywhere, lifting up holy hands, without wrath and doubting;

but we will give ourselves continually to prayer and to the ministry of the Word.

Evening and morning and at noon I meditate and am in a stir; and He will hear my voice.

And when he had learned that the document was signed, Daniel went to his house. And in his roof room, with his windows open toward Jerusalem, he knelt on his knees three times a day, and prayed and praised before his God, as he did before.

Again he went out about the sixth and the ninth hour, and did likewise.

Now from the sixth hour until the ninth hour there was darkness over all the land.

praying always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit, being watchful to this end with all perseverance and supplication for all the saints;
