To the woman He said: I will greatly multiply your sorrow and your conception; in pain you shall bring forth children; your desire shall be for your husband, and he shall rule over you.

Jehovah, in trouble they have visited You; they have poured out a prayer when Your chastening was upon them.

We have conceived; we have writhed in pain; but we have given birth (as it were) to wind. We have not produced any salvation in the earth; nor have the inhabitants of the world fallen out in birth.

He causes the barren to dwell in a house, like a joyful mother of children. Praise YAH!

Now Elizabeth's time was fulfilled for her to be delivered, and she brought forth a son.

And her neighbors and relatives heard how the Lord had magnified His mercy with her, and they rejoiced with her.

For it is written: Rejoice, O barren, you who do not bear. Break forth and shout, you who are not in labor. For the desolate has many more children than she who has a husband.
