And seeing their faith, He said to him, Man, your sins are forgiven you.

And the scribes and the Pharisees began to reason, saying, Who is this who speaks blasphemies? Who is able to forgive sins but God alone?

And at once some of the scribes said within themselves, This Man blasphemes!

Why does this Man speak blasphemies like this? Who can forgive sins except for One, God?
