Judas (not Iscariot) said to Him, Lord, how is it that You will make Yourself known to us, and not at all to the world?

Then one of the twelve, called Judas Iscariot, went to the chief priests

So from that time he sought opportunity to betray Him.

Then Judas, His betrayer, seeing that He was condemned, repented and brought back the thirty pieces of silver to the chief priests and elders,

And he threw down the pieces of silver in the temple and departed, and went and hanged himself.

Jesus answered them, Did I not choose you, the twelve, but one of you is a devil?

He spoke of Judas Iscariot, the son of Simon, for it was he who was about to betray Him, being one of the twelve.

Men and brethren, this Scripture needed to be fulfilled, which the Holy Spirit spoke before by the mouth of David concerning Judas, who became a guide to those who took Jesus;

(Now this man procured a field out of the wages of iniquity; and falling headlong, he burst open in the middle and all his entrails poured out.

For it is written in the book of Psalms: Let his dwelling place become desolate, and let him not live in it; and, Let another take his office.
