Then Jesus was led up by the Spirit into the wilderness to be tempted by the devil.

And when the tempter came to Him, he said, If You are the Son of God, speak that these stones may become bread.

Then the devil takes Him up into the holy city, and sets Him on the wing of the temple,

Jesus said to him, It is written again, You shall not tempt the Lord your God.

And he says to Him, All these things I will give to You if You will fall down and do homage to me.

Then the devil left Him, and behold, angels came and ministered to Him.

And Jesus returned in the power of the Spirit to Galilee, and news of Him went out through all the surrounding region.

The Spirit of the Lord is upon Me, because He has anointed Me to preach the gospel to the poor; He has sent Me to heal the brokenhearted, to proclaim deliverance to the captives and recovery of sight to the blind, to set free with deliverance those who are oppressed;

And the Holy Spirit descended in bodily form like a dove upon Him, and a voice came from Heaven which said, You are My beloved Son; in You I am well pleased.

And the Spirit of Jehovah shall rest upon Him, the Spirit of wisdom and understanding, the Spirit of counsel and might, the Spirit of knowledge and of the fear of Jehovah.

But with righteousness He shall judge the poor, and shall decide with equity for the meek of the earth. And He shall strike the earth with the rod of His mouth, and with the breath of His lips He shall slay the wicked.

The Spirit of the Lord Jehovah is upon Me; because Jehovah has anointed Me to preach the Gospel to the poor; He has sent Me to bind up the broken-hearted, to proclaim liberty to the captives, and the opening of the prison to those who are bound;

And when He had been immersed, Jesus went up immediately from the water; and behold, the heavens were opened to Him, and He saw the Spirit of God descending like a dove and coming upon Him.

And John bore witness, saying, I saw the Spirit descending out of Heaven like a dove, and He abode upon Him.

For He whom God has sent speaks the Words of God, for God does not give the Spirit by measure.

until the day in which He was taken up, after He through the Holy Spirit had given commandments to the apostles whom He had chosen,

how God anointed Jesus of Nazareth with the Holy Spirit and with power, who went about doing good and healing all who were oppressed by the devil, for God was with Him.

So he came by the Spirit into the temple. And when the parents brought in the Child Jesus, to do for Him according to the custom of the Law,

And it shall come to pass, as soon as I am gone from you, that the Spirit of Jehovah will carry you to a place I do not know; so when I go and tell Ahab, and he cannot find you, he will kill me. But I your servant have feared Jehovah from my youth.

So the Spirit lifted me up and took me away, and I went in bitterness, in the heat of my spirit; but the hand of Jehovah was strong upon me.

And immediately the Spirit drove Him into the wilderness.

And He was there in the wilderness forty days, tempted by Satan, and was with the wild beasts; and the angels ministered to Him.

Now when they came up out of the water, the Spirit of the Lord caught Philip away, so that the eunuch saw him no more; and he went on his way rejoicing.

But he himself went a day's journey into the wilderness, and came and sat down under a broom tree. And he requested for his soul that he might die, and said, It is enough! Now, Jehovah, take my life, for I am no better than my fathers!

And He was there in the wilderness forty days, tempted by Satan, and was with the wild beasts; and the angels ministered to Him.
