Jesus said to him, Truly, I say to you that this night, before the rooster crows, you will deny Me three times.

Then he began to curse and swear, saying, I do not know the Man! And immediately a rooster crowed.

And Jesus said to him, Truly, I say to you that today, even this night, before the rooster crows twice, you will deny Me three times.

Then he began to curse and swear, I do not know this man of whom you speak!

And a second time the rooster crowed. And Peter remembered the word that Jesus had said to him, Before the rooster crows twice, you will deny Me three times. And when he thought on it, he wept.

Jesus answered him, Will you lay down your life for Me? Truly, truly, I say to you, the rooster shall not crow till you will deny Me three times.

Peter then denied again; and immediately a rooster crowed.
