For the stars of the heavens and their constellations shall not give light; the sun shall be darkened in its going forth, and the moon shall not shine its light.

Thus I will shake the heavens, and the earth shall move out of its place, in the wrath of Jehovah of Hosts, and in the day of His fierce anger.

And it shall be as a hunted gazelle, and as a sheep that no man takes up; each man shall turn to his own people, and everyone flee into his own land.

Then the moon shall be abashed, and the sun shall be ashamed, when Jehovah of Hosts shall reign on Mount Zion, in Jerusalem, and before His elders, in splendor.

I looked on the earth, and, lo, it was without form and void; and the heavens, and they had no light.

When I extinguish you, I will cover the heavens, and make its stars dark; I will cover the sun with a cloud, and the moon shall not give its light.

All the bright lights of the heavens I will make dark over you, and bring darkness upon your land, declares the Lord Jehovah.

And I will show signs in the heavens and in the earth: blood, and fire, and pillars of smoke.

The sun shall be turned into darkness and the moon into blood, before the coming of the great and awesome day of Jehovah.

And it shall be in that day, declares the Lord Jehovah, that I will cause the sun to go down at noon, and I will darken the earth in the light of day.

And I will turn your feasts into mourning, and all your songs into lamentation. And I will bring up sackcloth on all loins, and baldness on every head. And I will make it like the mourning for an only one; and the end of it like a bitter day.

And immediately after the affliction of those days the sun will be darkened, and the moon will not give its light; the stars will fall from heaven, and the powers of the heavens will be shaken.

Now from the sixth hour until the ninth hour there was darkness over all the land.

But in those days, after that affliction, the sun will be darkened, and the moon will not give its light;

And they will see the Son of Man coming in the clouds with great power and glory.

And when the sixth hour had come, there was darkness over the whole land until the ninth hour.

I will present wonders in the heavens above and signs in the earth beneath: blood and fire and vapor of smoke.

But the day of the Lord will come as a thief in the night, in which the heavens will pass away with a loud noise, and the elements will be dissolved with intense burning; both the earth and the works that are in it will be burned up.

looking for and earnestly hastening unto the coming of the Day of God, through which the heavens will be dissolved, being set on fire, and the elements will melt with intense burning?

And I looked when He opened the sixth seal, and behold, there was a great earthquake; and the sun became black as sackcloth of hair, and the moon became like blood.

And the heavens separated as a scroll when it is rolled up, and every mountain and island were moved out of their places.

And I saw a great white throne and Him who sat on it, from whose face the earth and the heavens fled away. And there was found no place for them.

And at that time, Michael shall stand up, the great ruler who stands for the sons of your people. And there shall be a time of distress, such as has not been since there was a nation until that time. And at that time, your people shall be delivered, everyone that shall be found written in the Book.

Therefore I said, Look away from me; I will weep bitterly; do not insist on comforting me because of the devastation of the daughter of my people.

For it is a day of trouble, and of trampling down, and of perplexity by Jehovah of Hosts in the Valley of Vision; of breaking down the walls, and of crying to the mountains.

The best of them is like a thorn; the upright more than a hedge of thorns. The day of your watchman and your punishment comes; now shall be their perplexity.

Let its waters roar and foam; let the mountains shake with the swelling of it. Selah.

The streams have lifted up, O Jehovah, the streams have lifted up their sound; the streams lift up their waves.

Jehovah on high is mightier than the sound of many waters, than the mighty breakers of the sea.

And in that day they shall roar against them like the roaring of the sea; and if one looks to the land, behold darkness and distress; and the light is darkened by clouds.

But I am Jehovah your God, who divided the sea, whose waves roared; Jehovah of Hosts is His name.
