So that servant came and reported these things to his master. Then the master of the house, being angry, said to his servant, Go out quickly into the streets and lanes of the city, and bring in here the poor and the maimed and the lame and the blind.

But rather give alms from what is within; and behold, all things are clean to you.

And the Levite, because he has no portion nor inheritance with you, and the sojourner and the fatherless and the widow who are within your gates, shall come and eat and be satisfied; that Jehovah your God may bless you in all the work of your hand which you do.

You shall rejoice before Jehovah your God, you and your son and your daughter, your male servant and your female servant, the Levite who is within your gates, the sojourner and the fatherless and the widow who are among you, at the place where Jehovah your God chooses to establish His name.

And you shall rejoice in your feast, you and your son and your daughter, your male servant and your female servant and the Levite, the sojourner and the fatherless and the widow, who are within your gates.

When you have finished tithing all the tithe of your increase in the third year; the year of tithing; and have given it to the Levite, the sojourner, the fatherless, and the widow, so that they may eat within your gates and be filled,

then you shall say before Jehovah your God: I have removed the holy things from my house, and also have given them to the Levite, the sojourner, the fatherless, and the widow, according to all Your commandments which You have commanded me; I have not transgressed Your commandments, nor have I forgotten them.

And he distributed among all the people, among the whole multitude of Israel, both the women and the men, to everyone a cake of bread, a piece of meat, and a cake of raisins. And all the people departed, everyone to his house.

For Hezekiah king of Judah had given to the assembly a thousand bulls and seven thousand sheep, and the rulers had given to the assembly a thousand bulls and ten thousand sheep; and a great number of priests consecrated themselves.

Then he said to them, Go your way, eat the fat, drink the sweet, and send portions to those for whom nothing is prepared; for this day is holy to our Lord. Do not sorrow, for the joy of Jehovah is your refuge.

And all the people went their way to eat and drink, to send portions and rejoice greatly, because they understood the Words that had been declared to them.

The blessing of the dying man came upon me, and I caused the widow's heart to sing for joy.

I was eyes to the blind and feet to the lame.

I was a father to the needy, and I searched out the case that I did not know.

If I have withheld from the poor their desire, or caused the eyes of the widow to fail,

(when from my youth, as a father I have raised him, and from my mother's womb I guided her);

if his heart has not blessed me, and if he was not warmed with the fleece of my sheep;

Honor Jehovah with your substance, and with the firstfruits of all your increase,

and your barns shall be filled with plenty, and your vats shall be bursting with new wine.

He who oppresses the poor reproaches his Maker, but he who honors Him has mercy upon the needy.

Give strong drink to him who is about to die, and wine to one who is of a heavy soul.

Let him drink, and forget his poverty, and remember his misery no more.

Is it not to break your bread to the hungry, and that you should bring home the wandering poor? When you see the naked to cover him; and not hide yourself from your own flesh?

and if you extend your soul to the hungry, and satisfy the afflicted soul; then shall your light shine in the darkness, and your darkness shall be as the noonday.

And when Jesus went out He saw a great multitude; and He was moved with compassion for them, and healed their sick.

But Jesus said to them, They do not need to go away. You give them something to eat.

He said, Bring them here to Me.

So they all ate and were filled, and they took up twelve baskets full of the fragments that remained.

Then Jesus called His disciples to Himself and said, I have compassion on the multitude, because they have now continued with Me three days and have nothing to eat. And I do not want to send them away hungry, that they not faint on the way.

Jesus said to them, How many loaves do you have? And they said, Seven, and a few little fish.

And He took the seven loaves and the fish and gave thanks, broke them and gave them to His disciples; and the disciples gave to the multitude.

And those who ate were four thousand men, besides women and children.

So those servants went out into the highways and gathered together all whom they found, both evil and good. And the wedding hall was filled with guests.

Now all the believers were together, and had all things in common,

and sold their possessions and goods, and distributed them to each person, as anyone had need.

Nor was there anyone needy among them; for all who were possessors of lands or houses sold them, and brought the proceeds of the things that were sold,

and placed them at the apostles' feet; and they distributed to each as anyone had need.

Then Peter arose and went with them. When he had come, they brought him to the upper room. And all the widows stood by him weeping, showing the tunics and garments which Dorcas had made while she was with them.

distributing to the needs of the saints, given to hospitality.

Rejoice with those who rejoice, and weep with those who weep.

An overseer then must be blameless, the husband of one wife, temperate, sober- minded, well ordered, hospitable, able to teach;

being well reported of for good works: if she has brought up children, if she has lodged strangers, if she has washed the saints' feet, if she has relieved the afflicted, if she has diligently followed every good work.

but hospitable, a lover of what is good, of a sound mind, just, holy, self-controlled,

For we have great joy and encouragement in your love, because the hearts of the saints have been refreshed by you, brother.

Do not forget hospitality, for by so doing some have unknowingly entertained angels.
