Because narrow is the gate and distressing is the way which leads unto life, and there are few who find it.

When His disciples heard it, they were greatly astonished, saying, Who then can be saved?

So the last will be first, and the first last. For many are called, but few chosen.

Then one from the crowd said to Him, Teacher, tell my brother to divide the inheritance with me.

And He said to them, Take heed and beware of covetousness, for one's life does not consist in the abundance of the things he possesses.

So they asked Him, saying, Teacher, therefore when will these things be? And what sign will there be when these things are about to take place?

And He said: Take heed that you not be led astray. For many will come in My name, saying, I AM, and, The time is here. Therefore do not go after them.

Now as He sat on the Mount of Olives, the disciples came to Him privately, saying, Tell us, when will these things be? And what will be the sign of Your coming, and of the end of the age?

For many will come in My name, saying, I am the Christ, and will lead many astray.

Tell us, when will these things be? And what will be the sign when all these things are about to be fulfilled?

And Jesus, answering them, began to say: Take heed that no one leads you astray.

Peter, seeing him, said to Jesus, But Lord, what about this man?

Jesus said to him, If I intend for him to remain till I come, what is that to you? You follow Me.

And He said to them, It is not yours to know times or seasons which the Father has put in His own authority.

But you shall receive power when the Holy Spirit is come upon you; and you shall be witnesses to Me in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the ends of the earth.
