Now it came to pass in those days that He went out into the mountain to pray, and continued all night in prayer to God.

And it happened, as He was alone praying, that His disciples were with Him, and He asked them, saying, Who do the crowds say that I am?

And it came to pass, about eight days after these words, that He took Peter and John and Jacob and went up into the mountain to pray.

And coming out, He went to the Mount of Olives, as He was accustomed, and His disciples also followed Him.

And He was withdrawn from them about a stone's throw, and He knelt down and prayed,

Then an angel appeared to Him from Heaven, strengthening Him.

And when He rose up from prayer, and had come to His disciples, He found them sleeping from sorrow.

who, in the days of His flesh, when He had offered up prayers and supplications, with vehement cries and tears to Him who had the power to save Him from death, and was heard because of His godly fear,

Jehovah, You have heard the desire of the lowly; You will prepare their heart, You will cause Your ear to hear,

Let the words of my mouth and the meditation of my heart be pleasing in Your sight, O Jehovah, my Rock and my Redeemer.

Likewise the Spirit also helps in our weaknesses. For we do not know what we should pray as we ought, but the Spirit Himself makes intercession for us with groanings which cannot be uttered.

Now He who searches the hearts knows what the mind of the Spirit is, because He makes intercession for the saints according to God.

You lust and do not have. You murder and covet and cannot obtain. You fight and war. Yet you do not have because you do not ask.

You ask and do not receive, because you ask amiss, that you may spend it on your lusts.

But you, beloved, building yourselves up on your most holy faith, praying in the Holy Spirit,
