And Elijah came to all the people, and said, How long will you be limping between two divided opinions? If Jehovah is God, follow Him; but if Baal, follow after him. But the people answered him not a word.

And Micaiah said, If you return to come back in peace, Jehovah has not spoken by me. And he said, All you people, pay attention!

both children of mankind, and sons of men, rich and poor together.

Understand, you stupid ones among the people; and you fools, when will you be wise?

And when He had called the multitude to Himself, He said to them, Hear and understand:

In the meantime, when an innumerable multitude of people had gathered together, so that they trampled one another, He began to say to His disciples first of all, Beware of the leaven of the Pharisees, which is hypocrisy.

Then He also said to the multitudes, Whenever you see a cloud rising out of the west, immediately you say, A thunder storm is coming; and so it happens.

Hypocrites! You can discern the face of the sky and of the earth, but how is it you do not discern this time?

Then, in the hearing of all the people, He said to His disciples,

who devour widows' houses, and for a pretense make long prayers. These will receive greater condemnation.

Understand wisdom, you simple ones; and you fools, be of an understanding heart.

And He said, Go, and tell this people, You listen to hear, but do not understand; you look to see, but do not perceive.

So Philip ran to him, and heard him reading the prophet Isaiah, and said, Do you understand what you are reading?
