And He said to them, To you it has been given to know the mystery of the kingdom of God; but to those who are outside, all things are in parables,

But He did not speak to them without a parable. And when they were alone, He explained all things to His disciples.

So He called them to Himself and said to them in parables: How can Satan cast out Satan?

I will extend my ear to a parable; I will open my dark saying upon the harp.

I will open my mouth in a parable; I will utter dark sayings of old,

And He spoke many things to them in parables, saying: Behold, a sower went out to sow.

And the disciples came and said to Him, Why do You speak to them in parables?

All these things Jesus spoke to the multitude in parables; and without a parable He did not speak to them,

that it might be fulfilled which was spoken by the prophet, saying: I will open My mouth in parables; I will utter things kept secret from the foundation of the world.

And He said to them in His teaching, Beware of the scribes, who desire to go around in long robes, love greetings in the marketplaces,

And so it was, when Jesus had ended these sayings, that the multitudes were astonished at His doctrine,

Jesus answered them and said, My doctrine is not Mine, but His who sent Me.

If anyone wants to do His will, he shall know concerning the doctrine, whether it is from God or whether I speak out of Myself.

The high priest then questioned Jesus about His disciples and His doctrine.
