You shall make a veil of violet, purple, and scarlet thread, and fine twisted linen. It shall be done with cherubim of quality workmanship.
32
You shall hang it upon four pillars of acacia wood overlaid with gold. Their hooks shall be gold, upon four sockets of silver.
33
And you shall hang the veil from the hooks. And you shall bring the ark of the Testimony in there, inside the veil. The veil shall divide for you between the holy and the Holy of Holies.
34
You shall put the mercy seat upon the ark of the Testimony in the Holy of Holies.
Exodus 40:20
And he took the Testimony and put it into the ark, inserted the poles through the rings of the ark, and put the mercy seat on the ark from above.

Thus shall Aaron come into the Holy Place: with the blood of a young bull as a sin offering, and of a ram as a burnt offering.

He shall put the holy linen tunic and the linen trousers on his flesh; he shall be girded with a linen sash, and with the linen turban he shall be wrapped. These are holy garments. Therefore he shall wash his flesh in water, and put them on.

And he shall take from the congregation of the children of Israel two kids of the goats as a sin offering, and one ram as a burnt offering.

And Aaron shall bring near the bull as a sin offering for himself, and make atonement for himself and for his house.

He shall take the two goats and present them before Jehovah at the door of the tent of meeting.

And Aaron shall cast lots for the two goats: one lot for Jehovah and one lot for the scapegoat.

And Aaron shall bring the goat on which the lot of Jehovah fell, and offer it as a sin offering.
10
And the goat on which the lot fell to be the scapegoat shall be presented alive before Jehovah, to make atonement with it, and to let it go as the scapegoat into the wilderness.

And Aaron shall bring the bull of the sin offering which is for himself, and make atonement for himself and for his house, and shall kill the bull as the sin offering for himself.

And he shall take a censer full of burning coals of fire from the altar before Jehovah, with his hands full of spiced incense beaten fine, and bring it inside the veil.

And he shall put the incense on the fire before Jehovah, that the cloud of incense may cover the mercy seat that is on the Testimony, that he not die.
14
And he shall take some of the blood of the bull and sprinkle it with his finger on the mercy seat on the east side; and before the mercy seat he shall sprinkle some of the blood with his finger seven times.
15
And he shall kill the goat of the sin offering for the people, bring its blood inside the veil, do with that blood as he did with the blood of the bull, and sprinkle it on the mercy seat and before the mercy seat.
16
Thus he shall make atonement for the Holy Place, because of the uncleanness of the children of Israel, and because of their transgressions, for all their sins; and thus he shall do for the tent of meeting which remains among them in the midst of their uncleanness.
17
And no man shall be in the tent of meeting when he goes in to make atonement in the Holy Place, until he comes out. And he shall make atonement for himself, for his house, and for all the assembly of Israel.
18
And he shall go out to the altar that is before Jehovah, and make atonement for it, and shall take some of the blood of the bull and some of the blood of the goat, and put it on the horns of the altar all around.

And he shall sprinkle some of the blood on it with his finger seven times, cleanse it, and sanctify it from the uncleanness of the children of Israel.
2 Chronicles 3:8-14

And he made the house of the Holy of Holies. Its length was the same as the front of the house, twenty cubits, and its width twenty cubits. He covered it with six hundred talents of fine gold.

The weight of the nails was fifty shekels of gold; and he covered the upper chambers with gold.

In the house of the Holy of Holies he made two cherubim of sculpted work, and overlaid them with gold.

The wings of the cherubim were twenty cubits in length: one wing of the one cherub was five cubits, touching the wall of the room, and the other wing was five cubits, touching the wing of the other cherub;

one wing of the other cherub was five cubits, touching the wall of the room, and the other wing also was five cubits, touching the wing of the other cherub.

The wings of these cherubim stretching out twenty cubits; standing on their feet, facing the house.

And he made the veil of violet, purple, crimson, and fine linen, with raised cherubim.
Matthew 27:51-53

Then, behold, the veil of the temple was torn in two from top to bottom; and the earth quaked, and the rocks were split,

and the graves were opened; and many bodies of the saints who had fallen asleep were raised;

and coming out of the graves after His resurrection, they went into the holy city and were manifest to many.

the Holy Spirit signifying by this that the way into the Holy of Holies was not yet made manifest while the first tabernacle was still standing.

It was a comparison for the present time in which both gifts and sacrifices are offered which cannot make him who performed the service perfect in regard to the conscience;

concerned only with foods and drinks, various washings, and fleshly ordinances imposed until the time when things were set right.

But Christ came as High Priest of the good things to come, with the greater and more perfect tabernacle not made with hands, that is, not of this creation.

Not with the blood of goats and calves, but with His own blood He entered the Holy of Holies once for all, having obtained eternal redemption.
Hebrews 10:19-23

Therefore, brethren, having boldness to enter the Holy of Holies by the blood of Jesus,
20
by a new and living way which He consecrated for us, through the veil; that is, His flesh;
21
and having a High Priest over the house of God,
22
let us draw near with a true heart in full assurance of faith, having our hearts sprinkled from an evil conscience and our bodies washed with pure water.
23
Let us hold fast the confession of the hope without wavering, for He who promised is faithful.
