My soul also is exceedingly anxious; but You, O Jehovah, how long?

For in death there is no remembrance of You; in Sheol who will give thanks to You?

My eye has wasted away because of grief; it has grown weak because of all my enemies.

Jehovah has heard my supplication; Jehovah will receive my prayer.

Consider and answer me, O Jehovah my God; enlighten my eyes, lest I sleep the sleep of death;

But I have trusted in Your mercy; my heart shall rejoice in Your salvation.

O Jehovah, by Your favor You have made my mountain to stand strong; You hid Your face, and I was troubled.

What profit is there in my blood, in going down to the pit? Will the dust praise You? Will it declare Your truth?

You have turned my mourning into dancing for me; You have loosened my sackcloth, and clothed me with gladness,

When I kept silent, my bones wore out through my roaring all day long.

I declared my sin to You, and my iniquity I have not hidden. I said, I will confess my transgression to Jehovah, and You forgave the iniquity of my sin. Selah.

You are my hiding place; You shall preserve me from distress; You shall enclose me with shouts of deliverance. Selah.

i1 [To the Chief Musician. A Psalm of David.] i0 par I waited patiently for Jehovah, and He inclined unto me, and heard my cry.

And He has put a new song in my mouth, praise to our God; many shall see it and fear, and shall trust in Jehovah.

But I am lowly and in pain; let Your salvation, O God, set me up on high.

The bands of death have encompassed me, and the distress of Sheol has fallen upon me; I found trouble and sorrow.

Gracious is Jehovah, and righteous; yea, our God is merciful.

Return to your rest, O my soul, for Jehovah has dealt bountifully with you.

Those who sow in tears shall reap in joy.

He who goes forth with weeping, bearing seed for sowing, shall doubtless come again with rejoicing, bringing his sheaves with him.

And in that day you shall say, O Jehovah, I will praise You; though You were angry with me, Your anger is turned away, and You comfort me.

He will swallow up death forever; and the Lord Jehovah will wipe away tears from all faces. And He will take away from all the earth the rebuke of His people. For Jehovah has spoken.

For the people shall dwell in Zion at Jerusalem; you shall weep no more. He will be very gracious to you at the sound of your cry. When He hears it, He will answer you.

And the ransomed of Jehovah shall return and come to Zion with songs and everlasting joy on their heads; they shall obtain joy and gladness, and sorrow and sighing shall flee away.

Like a twittering swallow, so I chatter; I mourn as a dove; my eyes look weakly to the heights. O Jehovah, I am distressed; be surety for me.

O Jehovah, by these things men live, and in all these things is the life of my spirit; so You will restore me to health and make me live.

For Sheol cannot thank You, death cannot praise You; those who go down into the pit cannot hope for Your truth.

Therefore the redeemed of Jehovah shall return and come with singing into Zion; and everlasting joy shall be on their head. Gladness and joy shall overtake them; sorrow and mourning shall flee away.

I, even I, am He who comforts you. Who are you, that you should fear a man, who shall die; or the son of man, who shall be made as grass?

I have seen his ways, and will heal him. I will also lead him, and restore comforts to him and to his mourners.

to proclaim the acceptable year of Jehovah and the day of vengeance of our God; to comfort all who mourn;

to appoint to those who mourn in Zion, to give to them beauty for ashes, the oil of joy for mourning, the mantle of praise for the spirit of heaviness; so that they might be called trees of righteousness, the planting of Jehovah, that He might be glorified.

Rejoice with Jerusalem, and be glad with her, all you who love her. Rejoice for joy with her, all you who mourn for her;

They shall come with weeping, and with supplications I will lead them. I will cause them to walk by the rivers of waters in a straight way; they shall not stumble in it, for I am a father to Israel, and Ephraim is My firstborn.

For Jehovah has redeemed Jacob, and ransomed him from the hand of the one stronger than him.

Those who survive will escape and be on the mountains like doves of the valleys, all of them mourning, each for his iniquity.

and Jehovah said to him, Go through the midst of the city, through the midst of Jerusalem, and put a mark on the foreheads of the men who sigh and cry over all the abominations that are done within it.

And I will pour on the house of David, and on the inhabitants of Jerusalem, the Spirit of grace and supplication. And they shall look on Me whom they have pierced; and they shall mourn for Him, as one mourns for an only son, and they shall be bitter over Him, like the bitterness over the firstborn.

And the land shall mourn, each family alone: the family of the house of David alone, and their wives alone; the family of the house of Nathan alone, and their wives alone;

all the families who remain, each family alone, and their wives alone.

In that day a fountain shall be opened to the house of David and to those living in Jerusalem, for sin and for impurity.

Blessed are you who hunger now, for you shall be filled. Blessed are you who weep now, for you shall laugh.

Woe to you who are full, for you shall hunger. Woe to you who laugh now, for you shall mourn and weep.

and stood at His feet behind Him weeping; and she began to wash His feet with her tears, and wiped them with the hair of her head; and she kissed His feet and anointed them with the ointment.

Then He said to the woman, Your faith has saved you. Go in peace.

But Abraham said, Son, remember that in your lifetime you received your good things, and likewise Lazarus evil things; but now he is comforted and you are tormented.

Truly, truly, I say to you that you will weep and lament, but the world will rejoice; and you will be sorrowful, but your sorrow will become joy.

Therefore you now have sorrow; but I will see you again and your heart will rejoice, and no one takes your joy from you.

who encourages us in all our affliction, that we may be able to encourage those who are in any affliction, through the comfort by which we ourselves are encouraged by God.

Now if we are afflicted, it is for your comfort and salvation, being effective in the endurance of the same sufferings which we also suffer. Or if we are encouraged, it is for your comfort and salvation.

Now I rejoice, not that you were made sorry, but that you were made sorry unto repentance. For you were made sorry in a godly manner, that you might suffer loss from us in nothing.

For godly sorrow produces repentance leading to salvation, not to be regretted; but the sorrow of the world produces death.

Blessed is the man who endures temptation; for when he has been approved, he will receive the crown of life which the Lord has promised to those who love Him.

And I said to him, Sir, you know. So he said to me, These are the ones coming out of great affliction, and have washed their robes and made them white in the blood of the Lamb.

They shall neither hunger anymore nor thirst anymore; the sun shall not fall on them, nor any burning heat;

And God will wipe away every tear from their eyes; there shall be no more death, nor sorrow, nor crying. There shall be no more pain, for the former things have passed away.
