But He answered and said, It is written, Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every Word that comes forth from the mouth of God.

Then Jesus said to him, Go away, Satan! For it has been written, You shall do homage to the Lord your God, and Him only you shall serve.

and said to Him, Do You hear what these are saying? And Jesus said to them, Yes. Have you never read, Out of the mouth of babes and nursing infants You have perfected praise?

Jesus said to them, Have you never read in the Scriptures: The stone which the builders rejected has become the head of the corner. This was the Lord's doing, and it is marvelous in our eyes?

But concerning the resurrection of the dead, have you not read what was spoken to you by God, saying,

I am the God of Abraham, the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob? God is not the God of the dead, but of the living.

To the Law and to the Testimony! If they do not speak according to this Word, it is because there is no light in them.

Therefore the people quarreled with Moses, and said, Give us water, that we may drink. And Moses said to them, Why do you quarrel with me? Why do you tempt Jehovah?

And he called the name of the place Massah and Meribah, because of the quarreling of the children of Israel, and because they tempted Jehovah, saying, Is Jehovah in our midst or not?

because all these men seeing My glory and the signs which I have done in Egypt and in the wilderness, and tested Me now these ten times, and have not heeded My voice,

You shall not tempt Jehovah your God as you tempted Him in Massah.

And they tested the Mighty God in their heart by asking for food for the lust of their soul.

Yea, they turned back and tempted the Mighty God, and troubled the Holy One of Israel.

Yet they tested and provoked the Most High God, and did not keep His Testimonies,

when your fathers tried Me; they examined Me and saw My work.

but lusted with desire in the wilderness, and tempted the Mighty God in the desert.

And now we are calling the arrogant blessed. Those that work wickedness are built up; they even test God, and escape.

Then Peter said to her, How is it that you have agreed together to test the Spirit of the Lord? Behold, the feet of those who have buried your husband are at the door, and they will carry you out.

nor let us test Christ, as some of them also tempted, and were destroyed by serpents;

where your fathers tested Me, proved Me, and saw My works forty years.
