and were immersed by him in the Jordan, confessing their sins.

John came immersing in the wilderness and preaching an immersion of repentance for the remission of sins.

I indeed immerse you in water, but He will immerse you in the Holy Spirit.

And he went into all the region around the Jordan, preaching an immersion of repentance for the remission of sins,

John answered, saying to them all, I indeed immerse you in water; but One mightier than I is coming, whose sandal strap I am not worthy to loose. He will immerse you in the Holy Spirit and fire.

John answered them, saying, I immerse in water, but there stands One among you whom you do not know.

I did not know Him, but He who sent me to immerse in water said to me, Upon whom you see the Spirit descending, and remaining on Him, this is He who immerses in the Holy Spirit.

for John truly immersed in water, but you shall be immersed in the Holy Spirit not many days from now.

Then I remembered the Word of the Lord, how He said, John indeed immersed in water, but you shall be immersed in the Holy Spirit.

when John had first preached, before His coming on the scene, an immersion of repentance to all the people of Israel.

And John also was immersing in Aenon near Salim, because there was much water there. And they came and were immersed.

Then there arose a dispute between some of John's disciples and the Jews about purification.

John answered and said, A man can receive nothing unless it has been given to him from Heaven.

He who has the bride is the bridegroom; but the friend of the bridegroom, who stands and hears him, rejoices greatly because of the bridegroom's voice. Therefore this joy of mine is fulfilled.

He who comes from above is above all; he who is of the earth is earthly and speaks of the earth. He who comes from Heaven is above all.

He who has received His testimony has set his seal that God is true.

The Father loves the Son, and has given all things into His hand.

And he preached, saying, There comes One after me who is mightier than I, whose sandal strap I am not worthy to stoop down and loose.

Then Jesus went with them. And when He was already not far from the house, the centurion sent friends to Him, saying to Him, Lord, do not trouble Yourself, for I am not worthy that You should enter under my roof.

Therefore I did not even think myself worthy to come to You. But say the word, and my servant will be healed.

And as John fulfilled his course, he said, Who do you think I am? I am not He. But behold, there comes One after me, the sandals of whose feet I am not worthy to loose.

To me, who am less than the least of all the saints, this grace was given, that I should preach among the Gentiles the unsearchable riches of Christ,

Likewise you that are younger, be subject to your elders. Yes, all of you be subject to one another, and be clothed with humility, for God resists the proud, but gives grace to the humble.

when the Lord shall have washed away the filth of the daughters of Zion, and shall have purged the blood of Jerusalem from its midst by the spirit of judgment, and by the spirit of burning.

For I will pour water on him who is thirsty, and floods upon the dry ground. I will pour My spirit upon your seed, and My blessing upon your offspring;

And I will bring the third part through the fire, and I will refine them as silver is refined. And I will try them as gold is tried. They shall call on My name, and I will answer them. I will say, It is My people, and they shall say, Jehovah is my God.

But who can endure the day of His coming? And who will stand when He appears? For He is like a refiner's fire and like fuller's soap.

Then the offering of Judah and Jerusalem shall be pleasing to Jehovah, as in the days of old, and as in former years.

I indeed immerse you in water, but He will immerse you in the Holy Spirit.

And they were all filled with the Holy Spirit and began to speak in other tongues, as the Spirit gave them utterance.

And as I began to speak, the Holy Spirit fell upon them, as upon us at the beginning.

Then I remembered the Word of the Lord, how He said, John indeed immersed in water, but you shall be immersed in the Holy Spirit.

For by one Spirit we were all immersed into one body; whether Jews or Greeks, whether slaves or free; and were all given to drink into one Spirit.

For as many of you as were immersed into Christ have put on Christ.

There is neither Jew nor Greek, there is neither slave nor free, there is neither male nor female; for you are all one in Christ Jesus.
