For as Jonah was three days and three nights in the belly of the great fish, so will the Son of Man be three days and three nights in the heart of the earth.

From that time Jesus began to show to His disciples that it was necessary for Him to go to Jerusalem, and suffer many things from the elders and chief priests and scribes, and be killed, and be raised the third day.

Now as they came down from the mountain, Jesus charged them, saying, Tell the vision to no one until the Son of Man is risen from the dead.

and they will kill Him, and the third day He will be raised up. And they were exceedingly sorrowful.

and deliver Him to the Gentiles to mock and to scourge and to crucify. And the third day He will rise again.

Then Jesus said to them, All of you will be made to stumble because of Me this night, for it is written: I will strike the Shepherd, and the sheep of the flock will be scattered.

But after I have been raised, I will go before you into Galilee.

saying, Sir, we remember, while He was still alive, how that deceiver said, After three days I will rise.

And He began to teach them that it is necessary for the Son of Man to suffer many things, and be rejected by the elders and chief priests and scribes, and be killed, and after three days to rise again.

He is not here, but is risen! Remember how He spoke to you when He was still in Galilee,

And they remembered His words.

And when they did not find His body, they came saying that they had also seen a vision of angels who said He is alive.

Then He said to them, These are the words which I spoke to you while I was still with you, that all things must be fulfilled which were written in the Law of Moses and the Prophets and the Psalms concerning Me.

Jesus answered and said to them, Destroy this temple, and in three days I will raise it up.

Therefore My Father loves Me, because I lay down My life that I may take it again.

But he said to them, Do not be afraid. You seek Jesus of Nazareth, who was crucified. He is risen! He is not here. See the place where they laid Him.

But Peter arose and ran to the tomb; and stooping down, he saw the linen cloths lying by themselves; and he departed, wondering to himself at what had happened.

So they both ran together, and the other disciple outran Peter and came to the tomb first.

Then Simon Peter came, following him, and went into the tomb; and he saw the linen cloths lying there,

Then the other disciple, who came to the tomb first, went in also; and he saw and believed.
