Therefore, when they had gathered together, Pilate said to them, Whom do you want me to release to you? Barabbas, or Jesus who is called Christ?

if the men of my tent have not said, who is there that is not satisfied with his flesh?

He trusted on Jehovah; let Him deliver Him; let Him rescue Him, since He delights in Him!

For You are He who took Me out of the womb, causing Me to trust while on My mother's breasts.

Thus says Jehovah, the Redeemer of Israel, His Holy One, to Him whom man despises, to Him whom the nation loathes, the Servant of rulers: Kings shall see and arise, rulers also shall bow down, because of Jehovah who is faithful, the Holy One of Israel, and He shall choose You.

For He grows up before Him as a tender plant, and as a root out of the dry ground. He has no form nor splendor that we should regard Him, nor anything spectacular that we should desire Him.

He is despised and rejected by men; a Man of pain, and knowing infirmity; a hiding of faces; being despised, we have esteemed Him not.

I also cut off three shepherds in one month. And My soul loathed them, and their soul also abhorred Me.

And the chief priests and all the council sought testimony against Jesus to put Him to death, but found none.

So Pilate answered and said to them again, What then do you want me to do with Him whom you call the King of the Jews?

Then Pilate said to them, Why, what evil has He done? But they cried out all the more, Crucify Him!

Pilate, therefore, wishing to release Jesus, again called out to them.

Then he said to them the third time, Why, what evil has He done? I have found no reason for death in Him. I will therefore chastise Him and let Him go.

So Pilate gave sentence that it should be as they requested.

Now it was the Preparation Day of the Passover, and about the sixth hour. And he said to the Jews, Behold your King!

But they cried out, Away with Him, away with Him! Crucify Him! Pilate said to them, Shall I crucify your King? The chief priests answered, We have no king but Caesar!

Therefore let it be known to you, brethren, that through this One is preached to you the remission of sins;
