And there was one named Barabbas, who was in bonds with his fellow rebels; they had committed murder in the insurrection.

And they all cried out at once, saying, Away with this Man, and release to us Barabbas;

who had been thrown into prison for a certain rebellion made in the city, and for murder.

And he released to them the one they requested, who for rebellion and murder had been thrown into prison; but he delivered Jesus to their will.

Then they all cried again, saying, Not this Man, but Barabbas! Now Barabbas was a robber.

But you denied the Holy and Just One, and asked for a murderer to be granted to you,

who, knowing the righteous judgment of God, that those who practice such things are deserving of death, not only do them, but also approve of those who practice them.
