But I say to you, do not swear at all: neither by Heaven, for it is God's throne;

Nor shall you swear by your head, because you are not able to make one hair white or black.

You shall not take the name of Jehovah your God in vain, for Jehovah will not leave unpunished one who takes His name in vain.

Hear this, O house of Jacob, who are called by the name of Israel, and have come forth out of the waters of Judah; who swear by the name of Jehovah and make mention of the God of Israel (but not in truth nor in righteousness;

And he said to me, This is the curse that goes forth over the face of the whole earth. For from now on everyone who steals shall be purged out according to it; and everyone who swears from now on shall be purged out according to it.

And I will bring it forth, says Jehovah of Hosts. And it shall enter into the house of the thief, and into the house of the one who swears falsely by My name. And it shall remain in the midst of his house and shall make an end to it, and its timber, and its stones.

and let none of you devise evil in your heart against his neighbor, and do not love a false oath. For all these things I hate, says Jehovah.

And I will come near to you for judgment; and I will be a swift witness against the sorcerers, and against the adulterers, and against those swearing to a lie; and against those who defraud the hired laborer of his pay, and turn away the widow, and the fatherless, and the alien; and who do not fear Me, says Jehovah of Hosts.

But Peter said, Ananias, why has Satan filled your heart to lie to the Holy Spirit and keep back part of the proceeds of the land for yourself?

While it remained, was it not your own? And after it was sold, was it not in your own control? Why have you put this deed in your heart? You have not lied to men but to God.

Then he began to curse and swear, saying, I do not know the Man! And immediately a rooster crowed.

Then He said, I tell you, Peter, the rooster shall not crow this day before you will deny three times that you know Me.
