If a false witness rises up against any man to testify against him regarding apostasy,

then both men in the controversy shall stand before Jehovah, before the priests and the judges who hold office in those days.
18
And the judges shall investigate thoroughly, and indeed, if the witness is a false witness, who has testified falsely against his brother,
19
then you shall do to him as he had thought to do to his brother; thus you shall remove the evil from among you.
20
And those who remain shall hear and fear, and thereafter they shall not again commit such evil among you.
21

because you may ascertain that it is no more than twelve days since I went up to Jerusalem to do homage.

And they neither found me in the temple disputing with anyone nor inciting the crowd, neither in the synagogues nor throughout the city.

Nor can they prove the things of which they now accuse me.
