All day long they twist my words; all their thoughts are against me for evil.

They stir up strife; they hide themselves; they watch my steps as they lie in wait for my soul.

And they led Jesus away to the high priest; and with him were assembled all the chief priests, the elders, and the scribes.

And Peter followed Him at a distance, right into the courtyard of the high priest. And he sat with the servants and warmed himself at the fire.

And having arrested Him, they led Him away and brought Him into the high priest's house. And Peter followed at a distance.

Now when they had kindled a fire in the middle of the courtyard and sat down together, Peter sat among them.

And one of them, Caiaphas, being high priest that year, said to them, You know nothing at all,

Then the company of troops and the commander and the officers of the Jews arrested Jesus and bound Him.

Now it was Caiaphas who gave counsel to the Jews that it was expedient that one man should die for the people.
