And Jesus, walking by the Sea of Galilee, saw two brothers, Simon called Peter, and Andrew his brother, casting a net into the sea; for they were fishermen.

And going on from there, He saw two other brothers, Jacob the son of Zebedee, and John his brother, in the boat with Zebedee their father, mending their nets. And He called them,

And after six days Jesus took Peter, Jacob, and John his brother, and led them up into a high mountain by themselves;

Then the mother of Zebedee's sons came to Him with her sons, bowing and asking something from Him.

And He permitted no one to follow Him except Peter, Jacob, and John the brother of Jacob.

And He took Peter, Jacob, and John with Him, and He began to be in dread and deeply distressed.

And He said to them, My soul is exceedingly sorrowful, even to death. Stay here and watch.

And being in agony, He prayed more earnestly. And His sweat became like great drops of blood falling down to the ground.

Now My soul is troubled, and what shall I say? Father, save Me out of this hour? But for this purpose I came unto this hour.
