But beware of men, for they will deliver you up to councils and scourge you in their synagogues.

But when they deliver you up, do not be anxious about how or what you should speak, for it will be given to you in that hour what you should speak;

And brother will deliver up brother to death, and a father his child; and children will rise up against parents and put them to death.

And the rest seized his servants, treated them shamefully, and killed them.

Therefore, behold, I send you prophets, wise men, and scribes: some of them you will kill and crucify, and some of them you will scourge in your synagogues and persecute from city to city,

But take heed to yourselves, for they will deliver you up to councils, and you will be beaten in the synagogues. You will be brought before rulers and kings for My sake, for a testimony to them.

But when they lead you away and deliver you up, do not be anxious beforehand, or premeditate what you will speak. But whatever is given you in that hour, speak that; for it is not you speaking, but the Holy Spirit.

And you will be hated by everyone on account of My name. But he who endures to the end shall be kept safe.

Therefore also the wisdom of God said, I will send them prophets and apostles, and some of them they will kill and persecute,

But before all these things, they will lay their hands on you and persecute you, delivering you up to the synagogues and prisons. You will be brought before kings and rulers on account of My name.

And you will be betrayed even by parents and brothers, relatives and friends; and they will put some of you to death.

And you will be hated by all because of My name.

If you were of the world, the world would love its own. Yet because you are not of the world, but I chose you out of the world, therefore the world hates you.

Remember the Word that I said to you, A servant is not greater than his master. If they persecuted Me, they will also persecute you. If they kept My Word, they will keep yours also.

They will put you out of the synagogues; yes, the time is coming that whoever kills you will think that he offers God service.

being greatly disturbed that they taught the people and preached in Jesus the resurrection from the dead.

And they laid hands on them, and put them into custody until the next day, for it was already evening.

And they agreed with him, and when they had summoned the apostles and beaten them, they commanded that they should not speak in the name of Jesus, and let them go.

So they departed from the presence of the council, rejoicing that they were counted worthy to suffer shame for His name.

And they stoned Stephen as he was invoking and saying, Lord Jesus, receive my spirit.

Now about that time Herod the king stretched out his hand to oppress some from the church.

And he killed Jacob the brother of John with the sword.

So when he had apprehended him, he put him in prison, and delivered him to four quaternions of soldiers to guard him, intending to bring him out to the people after Passover.

Now as they were seeking to kill him, news came to the commander of the garrison that all Jerusalem was in an uproar.

He immediately took soldiers and centurions, and ran down to them. And when they saw the commander and the soldiers, they stopped beating Paul.

So I said, Lord, they know that in every synagogue I imprisoned and beat those believing on You.

Then He said to me, Depart, for I will send you far from here to the Gentiles.

But we desire to hear from you what you think; for concerning this sect, we know that it is spoken against everywhere.

For you, brethren, became imitators of the churches of God which are in Judea in Christ Jesus. For you also suffered the same things from your own countrymen, just as they did from the Judeans,

forbidding us to speak to the Gentiles that they might be saved, so as always to fill up the measure of their sins; but wrath has come upon them to the end.

Yet if anyone suffers as a Christian, let him not be ashamed, but let him glorify God in this regard.

Do not fear any of those things which you are about to suffer. Indeed, the devil is about to throw some of you into prison, that you may be tested, and you will have affliction ten days. Be faithful unto death, and I will give you the crown of life.

I know your works, and where you dwell, where Satan's throne is. And you hold fast to My name, and did not deny My faith even in the days in which Antipas was My faithful martyr, who was killed among you, where Satan dwells.

And when He opened the fifth seal, I saw under the altar the souls of those who had been slain because of the Word of God and because of the testimony which they held.

And a white robe was given to each one of them; and it was said to them that they should rest a little while longer, until both the number of their fellow servants and their brethren, who were about to be killed as they were, was filled up.

And I said to him, Sir, you know. So he said to me, These are the ones coming out of great affliction, and have washed their robes and made them white in the blood of the Lamb.
