And blessed is he who does not stumble because of Me.

yet he has no root in himself, but endures only for a while. For when affliction or persecution arises because of the Word, immediately he stumbles.

So they were offended in Him. But Jesus said to them, A prophet is not without honor except in his own country and in his own house.

Then Jesus said to them, All of you will be made to stumble because of Me this night, for it is written: I will strike the Shepherd, and the sheep of the flock will be scattered.

Peter answered and said to Him, Even if all are made to stumble because of You, I will never be made to stumble.

Then Jesus said to the twelve, Do you also want to go away?

This you know, that all those in Asia have turned away from me, among whom are Phygellus and Hermogenes.

for Demas has deserted me, having loved this present world, and has departed for Thessalonica; Crescens for Galatia, Titus for Dalmatia.

At my first defense no one stood with me, but all deserted me. May it not be reckoned against them.

And brother will deliver up brother to death, and a father his child; and children will rise up against parents and put them to death.

For I have come to set a man against his father, a daughter against her mother, and a daughter-in-law against her mother-in-law;

and a man's enemies will be those of his own household.

And as they were eating, He said, Truly, I say to you, One of you will betray Me.

He answered and said, He who dips his hand with Me in the dish will betray Me.

Put no faith in a companion; put no trust in a friend; keep the doors of your mouth from her who lies in your bosom;

for the son dishonors the father; the daughter rises up against her mother; the daughter-in-law against her mother-in-law; a man's enemies are the men of his own house.

Now brother will betray brother to death, and a father his child; and children will rise up against parents and cause them to be put to death.

And you will be betrayed even by parents and brothers, relatives and friends; and they will put some of you to death.
