But when Herod was dead, behold, an angel of the Lord appeared in a dream to Joseph in Egypt,

Now about that time Herod the king stretched out his hand to oppress some from the church.

And because he saw that it pleased the Jews, he proceeded further to seize Peter also. (And it was during the Days of Unleavened Bread.)

Then was fulfilled what was spoken by Jeremiah the prophet, saying:

And he came and dwelt in a city called Nazareth, that it might be fulfilled which was spoken by the prophets, He shall be called a Nazarene.

So all this was done that it might be fulfilled which was spoken by the Lord through the prophet, saying:

that it might be fulfilled which was spoken by Isaiah the prophet, saying:

The land of Zebulun and the land of Naphtali, by the way of the sea, beyond the Jordan, Galilee of the Gentiles:

that it might be fulfilled which was spoken by Isaiah the prophet, saying: He Himself took our infirmities and bore our sicknesses.

And He warned them not to make Him known,

Behold, My Servant whom I have chosen, My Beloved in whom My soul is well pleased! I will put My Spirit upon Him, and He will declare judgment to the Gentiles.

All this was done that it might be fulfilled which was spoken by the prophet, saying:

How then shall the Scriptures be fulfilled, that it must happen this way?

But all this is happening that the Scriptures of the prophets might be fulfilled. Then all the disciples forsook Him and fled.

And they crucified Him, and divided His garments, casting lots, that it might be fulfilled which was spoken by the prophet: They divided My garments among them, and for My clothing they cast lots.

Then He said to them, These are the words which I spoke to you while I was still with you, that all things must be fulfilled which were written in the Law of Moses and the Prophets and the Psalms concerning Me.

After this, Jesus, knowing that all things were now accomplished, that the Scripture might be fulfilled, said, I thirst!

For these things were done that the Scripture should be fulfilled, Not one of His bones shall be broken.

Men and brethren, this Scripture needed to be fulfilled, which the Holy Spirit spoke before by the mouth of David concerning Judas, who became a guide to those who took Jesus;

And you shall say to Pharaoh, Thus says Jehovah: Israel is My son, My firstborn.

The Mighty God is bringing him out of Egypt; he has lofty horns like an oryx; he shall consume the nations, his enemies; he shall break their bones and pierce them with his arrows.

When Israel was a child, then I loved him, and I called My Son out of Egypt.
