Another parable He put forth to them, saying: The kingdom of Heaven is like a man who sowed good seed in his field;

Now as they heard these things, He spoke another parable, because He was near Jerusalem and because they thought the kingdom of God would appear immediately.

Then He began to tell the people this parable: A certain man planted a vineyard, leased it to vinedressers, and went into a far country for a long time.

And He said, To what shall we liken the kingdom of God? Or with what parable shall we compare it?

but when it is sown, it grows up and becomes greater than all herbs, and produces large branches, so that the birds of the air are able to nest under its shade.

Then He said, What is the kingdom of God like? And to what shall I compare it?

It is like a grain of mustard seed, which a man took and threw in his garden; and it grew and became a large tree, and the birds of the air nested in its branches.
