And some fell among thorns, and the thorns sprang up and choked them.

And these are the ones sown among thorns; they are the ones who hear the Word,

And the ones that fell among thorns are those who, when they have heard, go out and are choked with cares, riches, and pleasures of life, and bring no fruit to maturity.

When the goods increase, those who eat it increase; what profit is it, then, to its owners, except to see it with their eyes?

There is a sore evil which I have seen under the sun: riches kept for their owners to their hurt.

But those riches perish by evil use. And he begets a son, and there is nothing in his hand.

and the cares of this world, the deceitfulness of riches, and the lusts for other things entering in choke the Word, and it becomes unfruitful.

Command those who are rich in this present age not to be high-minded, nor to trust in the uncertainty of riches but in the living God, who gives us richly all things to enjoy.

And the ones that fell among thorns are those who, when they have heard, go out and are choked with cares, riches, and pleasures of life, and bring no fruit to maturity.
