And the king of Sodom went out to meet him at the Valley of Shaveh (which is the King's Valley), after his return from smiting Chedorlaomer and the kings who were with him.

And he lifted up his eyes and looked, and behold, three men were standing by him; and when he saw them, he ran from the tent opening to meet them, and bowed himself to the ground,

Rise up, set out, and cross over the river Arnon. Behold, I have given into your hand Sihon the Amorite, king of Heshbon, and his land. Begin to possess it, and engage him in battle.

And at that time we took the land from the hand of the two kings of the Amorites who were beyond the Jordan, from the River Arnon to Mount Hermon

And they went along through the wilderness and bypassed the land of Edom and the land of Moab, came to the east side of the land of Moab, and encamped on the other side of the Arnon. But they did not enter the border of Moab, for the Arnon was the border of Moab.

For it shall be as a fluttering bird cast out of the nest; so it shall be for the daughters of Moab at the fords of Arnon.

Moab is withered up, and it is broken down. Howl and cry! Tell it in Arnon that Moab is plundered.
