Now therefore, flee to your place. I had thought to honor you with great honor, but behold, Jehovah has kept you back from honor.

Again, the devil takes Him up on an exceedingly high mountain, and shows Him all the kingdoms of the world and their glory.

And he says to Him, All these things I will give to You if You will fall down and do homage to me.

For what profit is it to a man if he gains the whole world, and loses his own soul? Or what will a man give in exchange for his soul?

And Balak did as Balaam had spoken, and Balak and Balaam offered a bull and a ram on each altar.

And Balaam said to Balak, Stand by your burnt offering, and I will go; perhaps Jehovah will come to meet me, and whatever He shows me I will declare to you. So he went to a barren height.

And Balaam said to Balak, Build for me here seven altars, and prepare for me here seven bulls and seven rams.

And Balak did as Balaam had said, and offered a bull and a ram on every altar.

Therefore he promised with an oath to give her whatever she might ask.
