Now when Jehu came to Jezreel, Jezebel heard of it; and she put black paint on her eyes and adorned her head, and looked down through a window.

And as Jehu had entered at the gate, she said, Is it peace, Zimri, murderer of your master?

He is wise in heart and mighty in strength. Who has hardened himself against Him and been at peace?

Adorn yourself with majesty and grandeur, and clothe yourself with glory and honor.

Scatter abroad the outburst of your anger; look upon everyone who is proud, and humiliate him.

Pride goes before destruction, and a haughty spirit before a fall.

Prior to shattering, the heart of man is haughty; and before honor is humility.

Therefore hear the Word of Jehovah, you scornful men who rule this people in Jerusalem.
