And the sons of Joseph who were born to him in Egypt were two souls. All the souls of the house of Jacob who went into Egypt were seventy.

And Moses and Aaron went and gathered together all the elders of the sons of Israel.

And He said to Moses, Come up to Jehovah, you and Aaron, Nadab and Abihu, and seventy of the elders of Israel, and prostrate yourselves from a distance.

And Moses went up, along with Aaron, Nadab, and Abihu, and seventy of the elders of Israel,

And there stood before them seventy men of the elders of the house of Israel, and in their midst stood Jaazaniah the son of Shaphan. Each man had a censer in his hand, and a thick cloud of incense went up.

After these things the Lord appointed seventy others also, and sent them two by two before His face into every city and place where He Himself was about to come.

Then the seventy returned with joy, saying, Lord, even the demons are subject to us in Your name.

So I took the heads of your tribes, wise and knowledgeable men, and made them heads over you, rulers of thousands, rulers of hundreds, rulers of fifties, rulers of tens, and officials for your tribes.

You shall appoint judges and officers in all your gates, which Jehovah your God gives you, according to your tribes, and they shall judge the people with righteous judgment.

Gather to me all the elders of your tribes, and your officers, that I may speak these words in their ears and call Heaven and earth to testify against them.
