I lifted up my eyes again and looked, and, behold, a man with a measuring line in his hand.

And, behold, the angel who talked with me went out, and another angel went out to meet him,

For I will be to her a wall of fire all around, and I will be the glory in her midst, declares Jehovah.

O Zion! Escape, you who live with the daughter of Babylon.

For, behold, I will shake My hand over them, and they shall be spoils for their servants. And you shall know that Jehovah of Hosts has sent Me.

And many nations shall be joined to Jehovah in that day, and they shall be My people. And I will dwell in your midst; and you shall know that Jehovah of Hosts has sent Me to you.

All flesh, be silent before Jehovah. For He is raised up out of His holy habitation.

In that day Jehovah shall defend the inhabitants of Jerusalem. And he who is feeble among them in that day shall be like David, and the house of David shall be like God, like the Angel of Jehovah before them.

So Jacob went on his way, and the angels of God met him.

And when Jacob saw them, he said, This is the camp of God. And he called the name of that place Mahanaim.

The Angel of Jehovah encamps round about those who fear Him, and rescues them.

Let its waters roar and foam; let the mountains shake with the swelling of it. Selah.

God is in the midst of her; she shall not be moved; God shall help her at the break of day.

i1 [A Song of Ascents.] i0 par Those who trust in Jehovah are like Mount Zion, which is not shaken, but remains forever.

As the mountains are around Jerusalem, so Jehovah is around His people from this time forth and forever.

And Jehovah will create over all the foundation of Mount Zion, and over her assemblies, a cloud and smoke by day, and the shining of a flaming fire by night; for over all the glory shall be a canopy.

In that day this song shall be sung in the land of Judah: We have a strong city; He sets up salvation as our walls and bulwarks.

As birds flying, so Jehovah of Hosts will defend Jerusalem; also defending, He will deliver it; and passing over He will preserve it.

Look upon Zion, the city of our appointed meetings; your eyes shall see Jerusalem, a quiet home, a tent that shall not be taken down; not one of its stakes shall ever be removed, nor shall any of its cords be broken.

For Jehovah is our Judge, Jehovah is our Lawgiver, Jehovah is our King; He will save us.

For you shall not go out with haste, nor go by flight; for Jehovah will go before you; and the God of Israel gathers you.

Jehovah roars from Zion, and He utters His voice from Jerusalem. And the heavens and the earth quake. But Jehovah is a refuge for His people and a fortress to the sons of Israel.

And you shall know that I am Jehovah your God dwelling in Zion, My holy mountain. And Jerusalem shall be holy, and foreigners shall no more pass through her.

And they went up over the breadth of the earth and surrounded the camp of the saints and the beloved city. And fire came down from God out of heaven and devoured them.

In his days Pharaoh Necho king of Egypt went up against the king of Assyria, to the River Euphrates; and King Josiah went out to meet him. And Pharaoh Necho killed him at Megiddo when he saw him.

In his days Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon came up, and Jehoiakim became his servant for three years. Then he turned and rebelled against him.

against Egypt, against the army of Pharaoh-necho, king of Egypt, which was by the river Euphrates in Carchemish, which Nebuchadnezzar, king of Babylon, struck in the fourth year of Jehoiakim the son of Josiah, king of Judah.

The Word which Jehovah spoke to Jeremiah the prophet, of the coming of Nebuchadnezzar, king of Babylon, to strike the land of Egypt.

And at the end of years they shall join together, and the daughter of the king of the south shall come to the king of the north to make an agreement. But she shall not retain the power of the arm. And he will not stand, nor his arm. But she and those who brought her shall be given up, as well as the one who begot her and who supported her in these times.

But out of the shoots of her roots one will stand in his place, and he shall come with an army and will enter into the fortress of the king of the north. And he will act against them and prevail.

But his sons shall be stirred up and shall gather a multitude of great forces. And one certainly shall come and overflow and pass through. And he will return to his fortress and be stirred up.

And when he has carried away the multitude, his heart will be lifted up. And he will cause a vast innumerable number to fall, but he will not prevail.

And in those times many shall stand up against the king of the south. And the sons of the violent ones of your people shall rise up to fulfill the vision, but they shall stumble.

But he who comes against him will do as he desires, and no one shall stand before him. And he shall stand in the glorious land, with destruction in his hand.

And both of these kings shall have it in their hearts to do evil, and they will speak lies at one table. But it will not prosper, for the end shall still be at the appointed time.

At the appointed time he will return and come against the south. But it will not be as the former or as the latter.

And at the time of the end, the king of the south will push against him. And the king of the north shall come against him like a tempest, with chariots and with horsemen and with many ships. And he shall go into the lands and shall overflow and pass through.

He will stretch out his hand against the lands, and the land of Egypt shall not escape.

But news from the east and from the north shall trouble him. And he will go out with great fury to utterly destroy and annihilate many.

And they shall live in it. And there shall never again be utter destruction, but Jerusalem shall dwell safely.

He shall execute justice for the lowly of the people; He shall save the children of the needy, and shall crush in pieces the oppressor.

Awake! Awake! Put on your strength, O Zion; put on your beautiful robes, O Jerusalem, the Holy City. For never again shall the uncircumcised and unclean come into you.

In righteousness you shall be established; you shall be far from oppression; for you shall not fear; and from terror, for it shall not come near you.

Violence shall no more be heard in your land, neither devastation nor destruction within your borders; but you shall call your walls Salvation, and your gates Praise.

Therefore they shall come and sing in the height of Zion, and shall flow together to the goodness of Jehovah, for wheat, and for wine, and for oil, and for the young of the flock and the herd. And their souls shall be as a watered garden; and they shall not languish any more at all.

And there shall no longer be a pricking brier or a painful thorn unto the house of Israel from all who surround them, who despise them. And they shall know that I am the Lord Jehovah.

Thus says the Lord Jehovah: When I have gathered the house of Israel from the peoples among whom they are scattered, and have been sanctified in them in the eyes of the nations, then they will dwell in their land which I gave to My servant Jacob.

And I will not hide My face from them anymore; for I have poured out My Spirit on the house of Israel, declares the Lord Jehovah.

And I will plant them upon their land, and they shall never again be pulled up out of their land which I have given to them, says Jehovah your God.

And I saw an angel coming down from Heaven, having the key to the bottomless pit and a great chain in his hand.

and he cast him into the bottomless pit, and shut him up, and set a seal on him, so that he should not lead astray the nations any more till the thousand years were finished. But after these things he must be released for a little while.

And Jehovah said: I have given attention to see the affliction of My people who are in Egypt, and have heard their cry because of their taskmasters, for I have acknowledged their pain.

Now therefore, behold, the cry of the children of Israel has come unto Me, and I have also seen the oppression with which the Egyptians oppress them.

It may be that Jehovah will look on my affliction, and that Jehovah will repay me with good for his cursing this day.

I have given attention to see the affliction of My people who are in Egypt; I have heard their groaning and have come down to deliver them. And now come, I will send you to Egypt.
