to make a distinction between holy and unholy, and between unclean and clean,

and to teach the children of Israel all the statutes which Jehovah has spoken to them by the hand of Moses.

They shall teach Jacob Your judgments, and Israel Your Law. They shall put incense before Your nose, and a whole burnt offering upon Your altar.

And they shall teach My people the difference between the holy and the profane, and cause them to discern between the unclean and the clean.

And in a dispute they shall stand as judges, and judge it according to My judgments. They shall keep My Laws and My statutes in all My appointed times, and they shall consecrate My Sabbaths.

For the lips of the priest should keep knowledge, and they should seek the Law from his mouth; for he is the messenger of Jehovah of Hosts.

holding fast the faithful Word according to the teaching, that he may be able, by sound doctrine, both to exhort and convict those who contradict.
