If you buy a Hebrew servant, he shall serve six years; and in the seventh he shall go out free without payment.

If the sun has risen upon him, there shall be guilt for his bloodshed. He shall make compensation to pay; if he has nothing, then he shall be sold for his theft.

If your brother, a Hebrew man, or a Hebrew woman, is sold to you and serves you six years, then in the seventh year you shall let him go free from you.

But of the children of Israel Solomon made no slaves, because they were men of war and his servants: his officers, his captains, commanders of his chariots, and his horsemen.

And they made their lives bitter with hard labor; in mortar, in brick, and in all manner of labor in the field. All their labor in which they made them work was with harshness.

For many nations and great kings shall lay service upon them also. And I will repay them according to their deeds, and according to the works of their own hands.

And all nations shall serve him, and his son, and his son's son, until the time of his land comes. And then many nations and great kings shall make him serve them.

For it shall come to pass in that day, says Jehovah of Hosts, that I will break his yoke from your neck and will burst your bonds. And strangers shall no longer enslave him,
