Thus far is the end of the matter. As for me, Daniel, my thoughts terrified me much, and my countenance changed in me. But I kept the matter in my heart.

And I, Daniel, fainted and was sick for days. Afterward, I got up and did the king's business. And I was astonished at the vision, but did not understand it.

I did not sit in the council of the mockers, nor rejoice; I sat alone because of Your hand; for You have filled me with indignation.

Why has my pain been continual, and my wound incurable, refusing to be healed? You surely are to me like deceitful waters that cannot be trusted.

As for me, I have not hurried away from being a shepherd who follows You; nor have I desired the woeful day; You surely know the going forth of my lips before Your face.

When I heard, my body trembled; my lips quivered at the sound. Rottenness entered into my bones, and I trembled within myself, that I might rest in the day of distress. When he comes up against the peoples, he will attack.

And as He drew near, He saw the city and wept over it,

For days will come upon you when your enemies will build an embankment around you, surround you and besiege you on every side,

that I have great sorrow and continual grief in my heart.

For I could wish that I myself were accursed from Christ on behalf of my brethren, my kinsmen according to the flesh,

So I went to the angel and said to him, Give me the little book. And he said to me, Take and eat it; and it will make your stomach bitter, but it will be as sweet as honey in your mouth.

And he said to me, You must prophesy again before many peoples, nations, tongues, and kings.

knowing that shortly I must put off my tent, just as our Lord Jesus Christ made known to me.

And in the second year of the reign of Nebuchadnezzar, Nebuchadnezzar was dreaming dreams, and his spirit was troubled, and his sleep left him.

And the king said to them, I have dreamed a dream, and my spirit is troubled to know the dream.

I saw a dream which terrified me, and the thoughts on my bed and visions of my head troubled me.

So he asked Pharaoh's officers who were with him in the custody of his lord's house, saying, Why are your faces sad today?

And they said to him, We each have had a dream, and there is no interpreter. So Joseph said to them, Do not interpretations belong to God? Tell them to me, please.

And it came to pass in the morning that his spirit was troubled, and he sent and summoned all the astrologers of Egypt and all its wise men. And Pharaoh told them his dreams, but there was no one who could interpret them for Pharaoh.
