There is a man in your kingdom in whom is the spirit of the holy gods. And in the days of your father, light and understanding and wisdom were found in him, like the wisdom of the gods. Your father, King Nebuchadnezzar, your father the king, appointed him master of the magicians, conjurers, Chaldeans and fortunetellers;

And Daniel continued to the first year of King Cyrus.

Then the king made Daniel great and gave him many great gifts. And he made him ruler over all the province of Babylon, and chief of the governors over all the wise men of Babylon.

In the third year of the reign of King Belshazzar, a vision appeared to me, Daniel, after that which appeared to me the first time.

And I, Daniel, fainted and was sick for days. Afterward, I got up and did the king's business. And I was astonished at the vision, but did not understand it.

Then Arioch quickly brought Daniel before the king and spoke this to him, I have found a man of the captives of Judah who will make the interpretation known to the king.

Then they answered and said before the king, Daniel, who is of the sons of the captives from Judah, does not show due regard to you, O king, or the decree that you have signed, but he makes his petition three times a day.

Now when the adversaries of Judah and Benjamin heard that the sons of the captivity were building the temple of Jehovah the God of Israel,

Then the children of Israel, the priests and the Levites and the rest of the sons of the captivity, carried out the dedication of this house of God with joy.

And the sons of the captivity observed the Passover on the fourteenth day of the first month.

For the priests and the Levites were purified together; all of them were pure. And they slaughtered the Passover lambs for all the sons of the captivity, for their brethren the priests, and for themselves.

And they issued a proclamation throughout Judah and Jerusalem to all the sons of the captivity, to assemble at Jerusalem,

And the sons of the captivity did so. And Ezra the priest set apart some of the men, heads of fathers, according to the houses of their fathers, each of them by name; and they sat down on the first day of the tenth month to examine the matter.

While tasting the wine, Belshazzar commanded the golden and silver vessels brought, those his father Nebuchadnezzar had taken out of the temple in Jerusalem, that the king and his nobles, his wives, and his concubines might drink from them.

O king, the Most High God gave your father Nebuchadnezzar a kingdom, and majesty, and glory, and honor.

After these things Jesus walked in Galilee; for He did not want to walk in Judea, because the Jews sought to kill Him.

His brothers therefore said to Him, Depart from here and go into Judea, that Your disciples also may see the works that You do.
