Then he went to the gate which faced east; and he went up its stairs and measured the threshold of the gate, which was one rod wide, and the other threshold was one rod wide.

Now when he had finished measuring the inner house, he brought me out through the gate that faces toward the east, and measured it all around.

Then He brought me back to the outer gate of the sanctuary which faces toward the east. And it was shut.

Thus says the Lord Jehovah: The gate of the inner court that faces toward the east shall be shut the six working days; but on the Sabbath it shall be opened, and on the day of the new moon it shall be opened.
